Might not be the cheapest, but it's the most functional one.
The Atomos Ninja proves to be an indispensable asset for filmmakers and videographers aiming to enhance their production quality. Its compact design houses powerful recording capabilities, allowing users to capture high-quality footage directly from the camera's sensor in ProRes or DNx codecs, bypassing internal compression for optimal image fidelity. The intuitive touchscreen interface facilitates real-time monitoring and precise adjustments, while its versatility ensures compatibility with a wide range of cameras, making it suitable for various workflows. Additionally, the seamless integration with popular editing software streamlines post-production, accelerating the editing process without compromising quality. With its reliable performance and user-friendly features, the Atomos Ninja emerges as a must-have tool for professionals seeking to achieve exceptional results in their projects.

NDI-HX Video Transmitter/Recorder
This device works in conjunction with an Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder, adding WiFi, SDI and NDI connectivity. While not as secure as a Teradek Bolt transmitter, it is far less costly, yet effective where you can run a CAT6 cable (NDI), or have an effective WiFi router (also NDI). You can also upload to Adobe Frame.IO for remote viewing, virtual switching, and editing. So far, I have used it with other wired NDI sources in a Mac running Wirecast. The Ninja V can be simultaneously used to record video in ProRes422. Suspenders and a belt!

Requires internet + subscription for remote monitoring
Atomos are a terrible company who will do everything possible to extract money from their users. Since this accessory was at fire sale pricing (half off), I picked one up thinking that a wireless transmitter for the monitor that advertises both remote control and remote view would allow me to watch a feed from my Ninja on my iPhone or iPad. Thankfully I didn't even open it - when it arrived, I went to install the app and realized that the remote control app only works over Bluetooth and allows changing monitor settings, but without remote viewing. The remote view app requires Atomos Cloud which is a subscription service that runs through the internet. So to simply watch a feed from your device on your iPad only 3 meters away, you need to connect both to wifi and send it through the Internet as well as paying Atomos a bunch of money for the privilege of doing so. Without a monthly subscription, the extra features offered by this stupid piece of junk are negligible - and it reduces the space available for an SSD, compromising the main feature for which almost anybody even buys the Ninja - its ability to act as an external recorder.

Amazing device.
I read some of the negative reviews and I can say with testing a few of these simultaneously that the negative reviews didn’t take the time to actually understand and learn the product. I’ve used it remotely with Frame.io and was able to upload profile files over an hour total in continuous length on a guest network remotely. Also, it is confusing at first but if you have the master caddy ii you need to remove the SSD drive from the caddy and use the supplied adapter in the box. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUT THE MINI SSD FROM ATOMOS. I’m using Samsung 2.5 SSD Drives. Overall this has been the answer I have been looking for after testing multiple multi-cam setups and I plan on picking up a 3rd unit.

Bad connection.
I gave it 3 stars because it seems like it can be a great product, and I really wanted to like it. I have an Atomos Ninja V & V+, I also have the Atomos Cast and I thought this would be a great addition to my lineup. I love the idea of it. The fact it will work with the monitors I already have keeping everything cohesive, but it has connection issues. It keeps losing connection to the Atomos Cloud Studio and when it is connected there is an audio issue. Hopefully with a firmware update it'll be fixed.

Expectations Blown Away
I very rarely write reviews, but when a product blows me away, I'm compelled. Setup took a while (including a few choice words out of frustration), but once I had everything connected, it just worked. Flawlessly. I rolled my eyes when I saw reviewers transferring only tiny 10-second files for demonstration purposes. It looked a little disingenuous to demonstrate an unrealistic recording length. I was expecting it to take some time to transfer my files wirelessly from my Ninja V to Premier Pro. I was wrong. The transfer speeds are VERY impressive. I decided to record 1-minute clips and do some basic math to get an idea of how long transfer speeds would be. On WiFi, it took maybe 15-20 seconds to transfer a 1 minute clip. Through ethernet, my files were transferred in literal seconds...7 seconds or so for a 1 minute clip. For what I do (which is mostly a dozen or so 3-5 minute video clips per project), it's incredible to see my footage ready for editing seconds after it's recorded. INCREDIBLE. To be able to know if my footage is going to work out or not, inside of Premiere, seconds after recording it, is a game changer.

I've been using Atomos products for years and this is a great addition to the Ninja

Requires a fairly hefty subscription
Requires a fairly hefty subscription -why do companies want you to pay them every month -and when they do, it should be a MODEST amount, not a soul-crushing amount. Too be fair, if I used the unit 8/hrs a day 5 days a week -the subscription is reasonable but the price is NOT for the casual user. Incidentally, the UI is NOT easy or friendly -expect 2 or 3 hours figuring out how to use the unit

Atomos Products are totally amazing in both the quality of their build, as well as in their functionality and performance. I would say this item was a good purchasing experience on Amazon Canada, and performs as advertised.
