So bright, so very bright
These is a perfect taillight for anyone who needs visibility on the trail or road from the rear. I do lots of road riding in a variety of lighting conditions. Being able to be see is key to my safety and survival, really. This light is so very bright. I have been told people could see it clearly from 2+ miles back. Yet it is not blinding people as they drive/ ride by. There are several mode settings available based upon conditions and how long you want the battery to last. The mounting system is brilliant, absolutely. This taillight is so spectacular I bought their front facing trail light.

150 lumens, pulse/strobe mode!
Super bright. Excellent quality item made in the USA. The newest model (fall 2017) has 4 modes, my favorite is pulse combined with the Strobe. The light can be adjusted to vertical. Straps are of good quality, housing aluminum. USB chargeable in about 4 hours. I bought mine in the local bike shop, it cheaper (!!!) and returns are easier.

Well-nigh indestructible
After six years of heavy use for both my daily work commute and vacationing, this taillight finally gave up the ghost, so I naturally ordered another. After years of subpar performance from smaller, cheaper lights, I would never buy a different model. I like the pulsing light, and am slightly disappointed that the new version also strobes - I find strobes very annoying. The housing is incredibly tough - I had to take a hammer to my old one to get the battery out for recycling. The only downside I can see is that the pivot is prone to jamming - it isn't necessary with it attached to the seat post, but if you need a different attachment point, it could prove maddening. All in all, a bright and reliable workhorse of a light.

Survived being run over by a car - UPDATED
**UPDATE: A year later, and I've never had the problem below again. More importantly, I've been using this light for regular bike commuting since April. I love it - battery life is still excellent, it holds up against all sorts of weather, and I haven't been run over yet.** First the downside -- the clip is hard to work. But the upside is that when the light fell off my bike and was run over by a car, it was fine. So it's very durable. And now that the clip is in place on my rack bag, it's very secure. The light is almost uncomfortably bright at the max setting, so I use it in the 2nd one. The battery life is excellent. Overall, it's a really well thought-out device and works really well for commuting in the city.

A swing and a miss...skip this light.
I'm usually a big fan of L&M. I probably have had five or six different lights over the years and they are the go to company I recommend for anyone who wants a quality light. Fit and finish has been great, quality materials, nice lenses and they don't over state the specs. But the Vis 180 Pro is pretty much a swing and a miss. The light itself is very nice, metal housing, bright LED's, good battery and it survived hundreds of rides in the rain, sleet and snow. But the mount is absolutely a deal breaker. It is the most brain dead design I've seen. The button to release the pivot lock jams the minute a grain of sand or any road grit touches it. The same goes for the mount the light slides into. You will either not engage it correctly because of a little bit of grit and lose the light or, it will get stuck in the mount. If you pull it, the strap will eventually break but not before you've bloodied your knuckles on the underside of your bike seat when it decides to let go (yeah, I know how it worked and L&M even made a video about how to use the release). Even with a totally clean mount, it's still a pain in the butt to remove it. L&M support is usually awesome if something breaks but there's nothing "wrong" with the mount according to them. So yes, absolutely a very well made light but no, no, no, no, do NOT buy this if only because the mounting design is beyond stupid and will drive you nuts.

Fragile unit prone to breaking
I use this tail light every day for my training rides but it keeps breaking. First the charging door broke and L&M replaced it now it will not turn on. Light and Motion says that they will repair if I pay to return it to them and wait weeks to get it back. Bright light but fragile units that do not last.

Worth the money!
Great rear light! HIGHLY visible. Great construction and styling Easy to remove/reinstall for charging. Battery life as advertised. I bought this light for my old bike, which got stolen. Bought a new and different bike, but re-ordered this exact same light!

Great light, awful mount
The light itself is great. Very good visibility and solidly constructed. Simple, one button user interface. Excellent battery life. Unfortunately, the mount is poorly designed and incompatible with everything else out there. The seatpost mount is functional, but hard to clip in and out on bikes with short seatposts. It will also be obscured if there are any bags in back. There is an optional "rack mount", which does not work with most of the racks that I own. Looks like the clip is also intended to latch onto a strap. But unless the strap is paper thin, it will not latch closed and will easily bounce out.
