The Network Cable Untwist Tool turned out to be surprisingly useful for straightening jewelry wires and pin heads! I was able to easily remove any twists and kinks in the wire, giving me smoother, more professional-looking pieces for my jewelry projects. This tool makes it so simple to straighten out Ethernet cable wires that a cave man could do it. You still have to do the hard work of cutting off the jacket and untwisting the twisted pairs, but once the wires are separated this tool will straighten out those wires in a few pulls, so you can get on with crimping. Your fingers will thank you.

Cute little device that helps but is not a magic cure. Let me be honest, I think the problem with threading cat5/cat6 wires into a connector may be beyond our current level of sapience. However, this little gadget does help straighten out the wires a little bit. I've tried several different angles and I find that it probably helps about 85%. But there are still one or two laggard wires that are difficult to straighten. I don't regret the expenditure because it does help me straighten out the wires after you remove the twists from each pair, but it does not completely solve the issue of wire alignment. I think that problem lies in the connector.... But I don't regret the decision and it certainly was a good value. Also, I like the fact that I have three of them so I can keep one on hand in multiple locations

Pros might look at this and laugh, but for someone like me, who only runs ethernet cables once in a blue moon, this tool dramatically sped things up. For me, the worst part about cutting my own cables was straightening the 8 wires. My fingers were quickly in pain and the wires still weren't straight enough to get into the RJ45 connector. God forbid I was doing a ton of these, my fingers would give out long before my work was finished. This was about the only tool I could find to supposedly help and I'm so glad I found it. Not only do my fingers not hurt after doing a bunch of cables, but it sped up the entire process immensely. It's a cheap little plastic tool, but it's worth 100x its weight in gold to an amateur ethernet cable installer like me. A few tips for first time users: 1. Run the wire across the section with a big gap in the little nubs (the middle). 2. Don't press together too hard or you'll strip the wire insulation. You'll know you're pressing too hard if the wires start to form an arc instead of straightening. 3. Run each wire through about 2-3x, rotating each time, so the wire twists/bumps are always perpendicular to the tool's nubs.

It just plain doesn't work, and comes with no instructions. I've been doing Category cable wiring for decades, and have always just used my fingers to straighten the untwisted pairs (which is what this tools is purported to do) and I guess I'll keep doing it that way. Don't waste your money.

Dude this product is awesome, they do not have this at grangers/mcmaster-carr. I struggle on Friday with out it. Also get a IDEAL cat 6a/6/5e feed thru ,took like 5 minutes, easy to use and straighten it out. would buy again!!!!!!! Paul Vance

Purchased multi pack and one worked very well, but two of them were cutting off casing on Cat6 pairs, upon looking at inside of product, I found an excess plastic piece that was sharp and looks like it was from molding process, cut off excess plastic and they work good now. For the price I should not have to REPAIR a product to use.

I was dealing with solid Core Cat6/7 wires and unlike the old stranded Cat5E of yesteryear, boy your fingers hurt untwisting and straightening wire with fingers. Tried this tool and it was even faster than using my fingers on Cat5E... on stiff solid core... It works as advertised. They are great.
