Columbia Men's Straight Line Rain Jacket

Being an avid Adventurer and Hiker, I felt the need to purchase a light waterproof and windproof jacket. There were a lot of choices but I wanted something that was a good "value" as far as price and performance. It came down to Columbia. I believe it was featured on Slickdeals.net for a significant discount. That did the trick for me so I bought it. Here is my review.The Columbia Men's Straight Line Rain Jacket is a great Lightweight Jacket that keeps that cold wind off of your body and mostly keeps you dry in rain. However, If you wash the jacket a few times the Rain Resistance may not be as resilient.Overall I thing this is a nice jacket, BUT!These run a size big. Large is easily an xtra large and Medium is easily a large.So just keep that in mind for when you purchase the Columbia Straight Line Rain Jacket.I recommend this product for good quality, value and construction.Its a good buy!

Like most people mentioned, this jacket is fairly bigger than most jackets. I am in between Large and XL, and based on other comments, chose to get a large. The large itself is fairly big on me and wonder how the XL would have been had I not heeded to the other comments. Also, like some of the other noticed, it does not breathe very well. There are couple of breathing holes around the arm pits and such and those are the only air exchange points. So, should look at it purely as a rain jacket.

I bought this jacket as a rain jacket and as a jacket to wear when it is slightly chilly. I am highly impressed. It appears well made and I have already worn it in the rain twice and it worked great. I read that some reviewers were concerned with the size. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 200 lbs. I bought the large and it fits perfectly. It is a very thin jacket and I will definitely take this along when I go hiking as it can be rolled up into a space slightly larger then my fist. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight jacket/ rain jacket.

This is another quality product from Columbia. This product does appear to be cut slightly larger than listed. I was happy with this as I'm closer to a 3X anyway. But be careful as this is not always the case. I have a similar jacket from them in another color and it came sized as expected.* Omni-tech seems to be sized as expected (in my experience)* Omni-shield seems to be sized slightly larger (in my experience)I specifically order this line now because I know it tends to come slightly over sized and I usually don't find their products online in 3X.

This is an updated version of a previous model I still have from Columbia. I love this color combination and am very happy that it fits and fits comfortably. A little pricey considering I bought the other one on clearance for only $30.00 but if its the same materials and quality as the other one it should last just as many years. I highly recommend this brand.

Got this item on an extreme bargain and it was worth every penny! Extremely waterproof, and the weight is excellent. Packs into a tiny little pocket (the breast pocket, for those of you wondering). The breathability is a little warmish, so don't dress too warm underneath.Size/Fit: I'm a tall guy and was a bit skeptical about only getting a large. I usually have to get XL so the sleeves are long enough, and then suffer through drowning in something that's way too baggy everywhere else. Not this one. The large fit perfectly, and the sleeves are a great length.

The jacket is very comfortable and does its job in keeping the rain out. However, the hood doesn't fit very well with my head (might just be a problem with my head) and constantly flies off even in a slight breeze. I'm usually a medium so I ordered a medium, but the jacket is a bit large for me. Other than that, it's a great jacket.

This is a good jacket for the price and does what it states. However, the fit is a bit large. I am small in clothing and this fits like its a medium to the point I had to double check the tag, size and length of it. Order a size down if you like fitted clothing vs. the loose jacket feeling.
