Hogue Bantam Style Rubber Grip for S&W K or L Frame Revolvers, Round Butt, Black - 62000

Bought a set for my 2.5” Model 686. At first, they appeared to be too small. I had my doubts. Not to worry. They fit perfectly. They are as small as they can be with still having a grip surface for all your fingers. They look and feel great. They install firmly and securely without the use of a grip screw. Nothing to come loose and get lost. Outstanding design. Worth every Penny.

Short version: Better, more secure grip if you plan on using it for defensive purposes. Improved clearance when loading/unloading. Grip profile optimized for concealment while still allowing for all fingers to grip (full-hand grip). Details: I used this to replace the "Deluxe" wood grips on my S&W 686 Plus 3". While the factory wood grips were very attractive, with nicely shaped finger grooves and a curved design for concealment, they were lacking in a few important areas. They interfered with extracting empty cartridges, consistently trapping one of the empties between the cylinder and wood, forcing you to rotate the cylinder to get them out. This Hogue grip has a slimmer profile right behind the cylinder allowing complete, rapid extraction without having to fiddle around. This slimmer profile also allows better engagement with a speed loader, allowing for faster reloads. The shape of this Hogue grip positions your hand slightly higher than the factory grip, for better recoil control. Also, the Hogue finger grooves are slightly closer together, resulting in a more secure hand feel. While this grip looks abbreviated at the heel, it's still big enough to get your pinky on, for a full-hand grip while maintaining an organic shape for better concealment. Finally, like all Hogue synthetic grips, the rubber texture has enough tackyness and give to really let you get a strong grip without feeling it might slip/move around with sweaty hands. Installation is super simple; it takes longer to remove the old grips than install these. Overall, I really like this grip and considering it's intended defensive use, I feel it's a huge improvement over the factory wood grips.

I have this installed on my S&W 586 L-Comp. Originally my L-Comp came with this grip, which I had installed, but then I purchased a custom wood grip and while removing the original Hogue grip I accidentally damaged it beyond repair (completely my fault, not a fault on this grip). While the custom wooden grip looked fantastic, I kept missing my old Hogue grip. Sure, it's more utilitarian and doesn't exactly pop out visually, however, for me it's far more comfortable plus it kinda has a certain visual aesthetic of its own, it looks more aggressive which I kinda like. Now that I have this Hogue back on my L-Comp it feels amazing again. It's super comfortable with just a little bit of squeeze to it and it's more comfortable to shoot with because to me I feel less perceived recoil. Worth noting is that the original Hogue grip that came with my L-Comp also came with a spreader tool, making it easier to install and uninstall, however, the grip I purchased on Amazon didn't come with that tool. That being said, I was still able to install it just fine (I had lost my original tool) - but uninstalling might be a pain, if I choose to uninstall in the future, though I don't see myself doing such soon because I really love the feel of this grip! Great bang for the buck!

Fit, finish and feel are great. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I haven't shot the gun since the install.

I hated the grips on my Talo 3-5-7 edition 686. The wood was slick, the finger grooves didn't match my hand, and there was poor fit and rough edges - so much so that a range day scraped the web of my thumb where it wrapped around the rough edge. These new grips have a great contour with the round butt on my 686, the finger grooves actually fit naturally, and the rubber is conducive to a solid grip. Presumably it will aid with shock absorption. I also use a hogue grip on an AR10, and the quality is here too.

I got this for a 3" 686 Plus I plan to carry. It is a bit of a struggle to get on and off, but there's a YouTube video that shows you how, and then it goes pretty smoothly. It does fit very securely despite not having any screws, just tension on the pin holding it in place, and doesn't shift even with hot loads. Despite the exposed backstrap, it soaks up recoil much better than the stock rubber-over-plastic grip, and the exposed backstrap reduces trigger reach while allowing for a higher grip, improving handling. As for the shape, the palm swells took a little bit to get used to, as do the flanges at the top of the strap (but they go far to pad the web of the hand). It's short enough for concealment, but still gives a full-hand grip. The only issue I had is that my small hands hate the placement of most standard finger grooves, and this was no exception. However, solid rubber grips can be reshaped, and now this thing fits me very nicely. I would get this again for a similar-sized gun.

I have a S&W 686 4 1/2 barrel. The factory grips broke right where threaded portion of the grip is, the plastic tower disintegrated. I needed some new grips and thought I would try the Hogue grips (price was right). They were very easy to install using the wedge provided, and fit perfectly to the gun. I have a fairly large hand and these grips fit to my hand very nice. I love them! Very grippy even with moist hands.

Preso da scettico, mi sono dovuto ricredere è molto comoda anche se per chi ha mani grandi non la consiglio è leggermente piccola, monta con una facilità pazzesca e da molta stabilità allosparo lo consiglio per migliorare nel tiro mirato per buoni risultati.

Great grip but I bought the wrong one I have the square frame. Live and learn lol. Maybe I could exchange for a square one? I have an original 586.
