Great for family night!
We use a lot of custom decks and while that is fun as a family, we wanted equal decks for a family night game (4 players). This box was perfect and included everything we needed for a great game night. This is great for getting everyone together for a few games of MTG. Well worth the price for everything you get with quality decks full of different features (I like the Goblin deck).

Great beginner and family set for MTG
If you're just getting started in playing MTG, this is the way to go versus buying a Commander Deck or similar setup. This has everything you need to play right out of the box. The decks are all pre-built and are great for learning the different play styles. They are also well balanced decks with no need to make changes, unlike my experience with the pre-built Commander Decks. This is great for family game nights too!

Excellent Value and learner decks
My kids and nephew really like this game. I have tried to play this game many times with them. They have lots of decks they have put together and commander decks as well. I started out trying to play on harder cards. I just could NOT wrap my mind around it. I’m pretty good at games, I play xbox 1 with them and other card games, but this is a hard one to figure out. There are SO many rules and each card say something different and the kids are speaking a different language with the game terms. I also have to wear reading glasses to see the magic cards… Im 43, haha! I was so frustrated, so I searched on here and found this! I just got it yesterday and we have played a few times now. Things are really coming together and I am understanding the game a lot better! My older son says these are very good starter decks that they actually include plenty of land and plenty of great creatures. I picked the water deck to start with and I liked that there was a siren in my deck! She is pretty cool. There’s no way I am figuring out the black deck for a while… but they played it very well. If you want to learn how to play with your kids or friends this is the set to buy. It has every single thing you need to get started. I also suggest watching a couple youtube videos. The only thing I wish the maker would do is either include sleeves or make the storage insert large enough to accommodate sleeves. The sad thing is once you put sleeves on you can’t use the nice insert. You can still use the box to store them. There is a great set of sleeves on here with every color you need. It has red, purple, white, black and blue. It is 17. I felt like that was a great deal after pricing individual sleeve color packs. While they are not extremely thick they are just fine. You definitely will want sleeves. It makes shuffling easier as you just kind of slide the deck into itself. You don’t ever shuffle these cards like normal cards. This game has been out since the 90s. I was a 90s kid and never heard of it lol. It’s actually pretty fun, but the best part is the time spent with my kids and nieces/nephews. I always want to try to learn the fun stuff they do so we can all hang out. If you’re on the fence buy this set!

Incredible value! Great stand-alone set - a Magic the Gathering "board game"
I have been playing for over twenty years. There was a time when I spent a lot of money on cards and had some very competitive decks. I stopped playing due to a combination of factors, one of which was the high costs involved with buying the cards you want to complete your deck. Even if you don't play at the competitive level, with any card available for purchase online, when you build your own decks, your play group can quickly fall victim to a type of vicious cycle arms-race. A few players start purchasing extremely high powered cards and everyone else has to buy equally high powered (and expensive) cards to stay competitive. I love the game but I hate the hustle. I also wanted to be able to play the game with friends who didn't collect cards, who might be beginners, or who may not be able to play my custom decks due to their complexity. So I had this idea many years ago to buy an entire series of base-set decks since they are all relatively beginner-friendly and presumably well balanced against each other. I did this for 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th edition and it worked very well. I was able to play games with lots of new players who didn't own cards and players who didn't have their cards with them. I was able to teach a whole ton of people how to play the game. Overall they were a great success. But this Game Night set is even better. If you bought five decks in a base set like I did in the past, you would pay $8 for each 40 card deck, you would not receive a spin-down die or tokens, only the 40 cards. Together I paid $40 for each 5-deck set for each edition and didn't even get full decks. With this Game Night set, you get five 60 card decks, PLUS you get 5 spin-down die that can cost $1 or more each, PLUS you get 15 token cards and a rules book. As icing on the cake, it all fits into a nice board game style box that looks great and unique on a shelf with your other board games.Just a note, though, the 2019 version of this boxed set is still floating around online and you can buy it for almost $20 cheaper than the 2022 boxed set so you might consider that one first if you don't have either one yet and save yourself some money.

Great introduction Set or Gift for MtG fan
The selection of cards is overall very good and there is plenty of room to upgrade these decks. 2-5 players can play this game so it's a great set for multiple friends or for the family to play. The interior of the box is nicely organized and love that they provided d20 dices that match the colors of the decks as well as providing life dice mats. I gave this product a 4 star because two of the corners of the exterior part of the box is slightly dented and worn. I figured this is due to how the boxes are stored or maybe transported. I would have liked to see the box being is "new" condition. If you don't mind the exterior looking a little worn, then this is a great product.
