UPDATE: The seller reached out and offed to send a replacement which I will try with admitted doubts because this product is so precisely made, I'm not sure how another will function significantly different. BUT, kudos to the for following the feedback and working around Amazon Prime's restrictive policies. A recap is that this is very solidly made without any what to grab it once it's down in the socket. It's so well made and heavy there are NO sharp corners/edges mold lines or simply anything but smooth heavy (dense) bullet-like walls. My suspicion is the springs that hold it into the socket are normal and not able to hold the heavy thing in place once you hit a jarring pot hole. Unless you have a land yacht limo with dream boat suspension. All my vehicle's sockets are horizontal, I'll try the only 1 that's a hole (in the center console) again to see if it helps, I just don't like wires coming out of thereAll the good things that would be slick about this aren't there because it's too short and heavy to stay in any of the power outlets of 4 cars. I have 4 outlets in the car and 3 in the truck..My GF drives 2 vehicles regularly with 3 outlets. So she got out of the car and threw it at me and said I as supposed to catch and slam in the garbage because it cost her 20 minutes late to a client consultation for a $30,000 job when the phone died during navigating. It'd backed out of the socket, presumably on a chuck hole like had happended to me and her. I'm now banned from giving her ANY tech gadgets without 4 weeks proving they don't have slick packages with "GOTCHA" problems. AMAZON PRIME WON"T MATCH WALMART or HOME DEPOT or LOWES return policy. SO it's a zero star, give it to someone you really don't care for and say you just got a pair a few weeks ago on Amazon! When they say they have to keep pushing it down into the socket, say well Sorry AMAZON doesn't give a crap.

I Received this car charger along with 2 ZMI wall chargers. I plugged this car charger into my llighter port in my 1976 Mercedes Benz (just to give you an idea of how old the technology in car is). Charger kicked in and immediately recognized my S7 Samsung phone, and began charging it at lightning speed. Excellent product. One of best buys on Amazon. ZMI, an American company, and the manufacturer of this car charger seems to be a legitimately good company. I also purchased their wall chargers which are true fast charging lightning speed chargers as well. Right now my phone is charging at faster than 1 percent per minute. How do you know its fast charging? On your S7 or S8 (or pretty much any Samsung product), if you have fast charging enabled (you can enable this in settings), once you plug phone into charger, you will immediately the words "fast charging" in your notifications or when you check your battery status. Finally, a product that actually does what it says it is supposed. 5 star buy. Highly recommended.Also, car Charger is small but made of heavy duty sleek metallic material. I did not have an issue with charger popping out of my lighter port either.

If you're wondering why this piece looks like it's metal, it's because it's actually metal. This thing weighs way more than it looks which is a good thing when it comes to electronics. It's very solid and very heavy in high quality. It fits snugly into the receptacle and has a nice little LED ring that emits just enough light so you can see what you are doing in that general area.the fast charging is very welcome, when I'm on the road I need all of my big energy intensive devices charged up quickly and not trickle charged like most of these lighter power adapters do. This will power an iPad or whatever else you throw at it.

Just stop looking and get this one. The build: Full metal casing. Feels heavy in hand which gives a solid and quality feeling. The design looks clean, simple and modern.Function: The charging speed is amazing!! It charges faster than my QC 3.0 wall plug charger by at least double the speed. There was once my phone battery was at around 10%, forgot to charge it at home. I plugged it in the car, strap the kids on their seats then reversed out on the driveway. The whole thing took about 2 minutes and it's already increased 4%. 10 minutes on the road and it reads 49%! Before this one, I've not seen the fast charging achieving this speed. It doesn't get hot while charging so I'm just in awe of the performance here. With $10 and you get this beautiful design and quality, and on top of all, it charges super fast. Don't know about others, but I'm loving this one. Thank you Zimi corp for this amazing product.

Solid design. Reliably connects to lighter socket unlike cheaper products that tend to disconnect because of inadequate spring force. It also has good filtering. Alternator whine is filtered out. Cheaper adapters pass that through making it impossible to listen to an MP3 player while charging. No audible noise makes it through this device. It also supports the new 12V and 20V USB charging standards. That will be meaningless to most customers but will lead to slightly more efficient and slightly faster charging of modern devices because of reduced cable losses. Overall far better than expected. I've discarded half a dozen junky adapters prior to this one that have either been unreliable or have suffered mechanical or electronic failures. All told, those have cost me far more in $ and frustration than this one and I think this may be the last one I every buy.

I love it. It charges my phone quickly, feels high quality, and all for a great price.
