Good product
I bought this for my outdoor sprinkler system. The pipe ends always seem to bugger up the threads and you are stuck buying new ones or tearing part of the system apart. With these just an easy turn on and off and you are 100% again. So easy with the Right Tools. I also bought the taps of the same size for the internal threads. Working Great!!!

Nice concept
This looked like a perfect tool to have in my irrigation supply box. Being able to thread my own custom-size sections of sprinkler pipe was an exciting prospect. Unfortunately, the thread maker that I received would not cut into the perfectly cut, new piece of 1/2" pvc pipe that i tried to thread. The cutter appeared to be sharp and well formed. However, all of the components (cutter, handle/frame, and pipe sleeve) were somewhat loose and wobbly when assembled. Consequently, I couldn't really hold the cutter perpendicular to the end of the pvc pipe. With much effort, though, I managed to maintain a somewhat steady placement of the cutter, but then I couldn't do any better than to create a slightly rounded edge on the pipe. I just couldn't get the cutter to bite into the pipe. I did try running the cutter on to a threaded piece of pipe and it engaged and traveled onto the pipe threads without any problem. The concept of this tool is certainly great but it needs some redesign and better fit and finish before it will be of any real value to us DIYers.

Works but only under specific conditions
For general purpose and very slack tolerance use. PVC pipe age and type is an important factor. With age PVC tends to get brittle. Handles are ok, but the die holder is plastic and pretty lame. Package was missing one of the two die holding screws. The centering/alignment guide insert is loose and as a result it is very difficult to get a square thread alignment. E-Conduit has problems, very brittle and had plastic blow-out. Just making risers for sprinkler, thankfully loose tolerance as straight threads was almost impossible. If your just after the die and plan to make your own higher tolerance holder this might be a good choice. But for the project which it was needed got done this worked out okay for what I needed to do. Recommend but only under limited conditions and use.

Don't Waste Your Money
This item is advertised as a "PVC Thread Maker Tool" / "Pipe Threader Plumbing Tool". After spending over an hour trying to thread both 3/4" Sched 40 and 1/2" Sched 80 PVC pipe I had absolutely NO success. I merely produced a slightly tapered "cone" at the ends of the pipe without cutting ANY threads. And it took an immense effort to do even that pointless exercise.I say "nearly useless" because I did find a single use for this tool. It can be helpful for cleaning up existing threads on the pipe. It helped me clean off previously used Teflon (TM) pipe tape and to clean up damaged threads.Bottom line -- I found this to be a nearly useless tool and a near complete waste of money. I recommend you save yours.(Please note that this is only my second 1-star review [the first was for an incorrectly shipped item]).

Good for emergency use
This is a good tool to have for a home plumbing kit.I tried it on brand new 3/4" PVC and with a high level of difficulty I was able to make a workable thread with it.What it is not good for is as a tool for doing major amounts of work. It takes to long and the whole thing is flimsy enough to let you know it's only going to last for maybe a dozen cuts before something breaks.Overall I am happy with it because when I do need it, I know it will get the Job done and I probably won't need to us it more than a couple of times.
