Will these cups work on outside aluminum post?

If it is a smooth surface, they will adhere to an aluminum post. However, I am not sure how they will stand up to the elements, especially if they are in bright sunshine. I would be concerned that the plastic would deteriorate with outdoor exposure.

What am I doing wrong? Two were working great in our brand new shower with smooth matte tile. Now they won’t stay up with nothing hung on them!

I am sure you’re doing nothing wrong. If your tile is a little bit bumpy it is much harder for the suction to stick to it with the back hold it down and then release the clip. I use it in the bathroom for facial sponges. I’ve had to suction it to the top of the ledge instead of the flat side Because of the design and the tile

Would this be alright to hang a stained glass cross on my inside front window?

The suction is great, but I bought the large ones and in my opinion, the hooks are not attractive enough to hang a stained glass cross. The two I am using are in the shower holding a mesh bag of bathtub toys
