This "tool" is very helpful to relax the muscles at the base of the skull which helps reduce the nerve pain. I love that it is not all hard plastic but there is a little give to the knobs. This helps prevent too much pressure on the nerves. I also love that the base is removable so it is close to the correct height for your body. If you use it at too high of a height (if you are small framed) your neck will be stretched out in the incorrect position and can cause more pain in the area. It is extremely important to use this only for a minute or two to begin with and slowly increase the time you use it. If you start using it 10+ minutes at a time it will be too much for the nerves and muscles and cause more pain.
