A steep learning curve !
After several hours trying to follow the minimal Sharp 2 sided single page instrs to set up clock etc eventually got clock and basic micro to work and performs those functions well ! . Have not attempted combi/grille functions as yet, but, once I decipher the instrs hopefully all bells & whistles will make sense. The instrs are in my mind farcical, need clearer detail ! I DO NOT FAULT SELLER ,rather Sharp for spoiling ones expectations re-setup. Despite having used micros for over 50yrs this one was a challenge .The unit looks good and micros well, have put a thin rubber mat under to prevent it slipping on w/top when opening door, also, noticed fan runs on a for 40-60 seconds after use PRESUME THIS OK as have not experienced with previous micros bearing in mind my last model was 15yrs old [so tech has moved on ] The Defrost Function is good as just used and result perfect for 1/3rd Kilo mince frozen on Auto D/FR for 6mins aprox and no over heated brown bits . Now upping from 3 to 3.5stars a very tight 4stars until other functions tried and tested .

Tricky controls- not for seniors
This is for the 32 litre microwave/grill/oven combi. Completely flat control panel (picture 1) with sound feedback but no no click fb when you press a button. Also the controls are hard to read without a light, and on the main sub-panel (picture 2) there are no borders to show where each button ends. The AUTO PROGRAMS sub-panel (picture 3), whose buttons *do* have borders, is a mix of things like ROAST BEEF, AUTO DEFROST, POPCORN, AUTO REHEAT, GRILLED CHICKEN, REHEAT BEVERAGE, and PORRIDGE. Random! Who designs this stuff? And what are those ^ v arrows for? NB the plate-supporter provided (picture 4) is rather high - keep the lower height one from your old micro. Please Mr Sharp / Mr Microwave manufacturer: - I want clickable buttons or knobs that quickly answer the main questions: "How hot?", "How long?", "Shall I Start/Stop?" - [The Start/Stop button doubling as "30-second microwave full blast" is now a common convention.] - Next: "Which function? [Microwave (default), and/or Oven, and/or Grill]." - And finally, least used settings: "When shall I start? [Now (default), Later, Let me program it]" and "Set clock." - No specific food items should be mentioned anywhere! A laminated plastic card that I can stick on my fridge could suggest settings for porridge or popcorn. If "AUTO DEFROST" and "REHEAT BEVERAGE" actively measure the temperature of the contents then you could make a case to have extra controls for them. But it would be more important to actively detect sparking or burning.

Poor quality
Hardly used and it lasted just over 12 months. The timer dial stopped working and unable to use. Previous microwave lasted over 25 years. Poor quality item.

Pay a bit more and reap the rewards
Ive always opted for cheap microwaves, I went foe a more expensive one with more space and a greater heat level at 900w and it was so worth it. The build quality is excellent, the microwave functionality and options are very helpful and I now feel it's great value for money. Nice to be able to heat food faster too and the added space allows us to microwave a lot more including sterilising our large baby unit with all bottles and accessories.
