one of the best triple changer
the truck looks awesome. the jet plane looks great. robot mode is cool. overall, it took some effort to transform and it is fun. whoever designed octane, you are a genius. this toy is epic. there are some minor cons; cheap stickers and the hips joints could be more sturdy as it shud be. the length of the truck is about 9 inches. the jet plane length and width about 9 inches. robot height about 9 inches too. a great product !!

Works better than Prime!
Wasn’t planning on buying him (as I’ve had the Prime mold first) but I’m really glad I did! As much as I love what they did for Prime in this mold, it really is supposed to be Octone (Octane) and I couldn’t be happier with it! He just works so much better in jet mode and it helps that they remolded the wings and nose cone to make it more believable.

Stench..
The figure is in good condition and is very fun to have in my collection, however the smell of cigarette smoke is definitely there. The tape was already cut and yellowed and the small plastic ropes that held the figure in the package were yellowed. The stench has worn off now but I expected better out of the product.

Nice homage to the original figure
He's a really nice homage to the original G1 toy - the right proportions and all the right colors. I had the original figure as a kid, and this figure fills the bill for a modern replacement. I really like Hasbro's current dedication to generally avoiding extra parts that you have to add-on in order to complete any one of the modes (like adding hands to the original Optimus Prime in robot mode, or adding a head, hands, and feet to any of the combiners). I don't know - it always felt like cheating and only made for more parts to lose. My point being, the original G1 Octane (his real name, not 'Octone') had a clip-on chrome part to complete the tanker mode and this self-contained figure does away with that nonsense. That's a win. His tanker mode and passenger jet modes both look great. I'm only slightly disappointed with some minor engineering/construction issues that seem to plague many modern Transformers. Namely, his feet and heel supports in robot mode don't quite sit at the same level, making standing him upright a little awkward because he wants to lean backwards, and therefore, he usually requires slight bending at the knees to get him to stand. Also, his wings in robot mode have very tiny, shallow indentations in them that line up with very stubby 'pegs' on his back, which are supposed to pin his wings into place. Spoiler alert: they don't. His wings kinda flop around and this could have been easily fixed by simply making the pegs a little longer and the holes they fit into a little deeper for a more snug fit (this is a common problem with a lot of parts that are supposed to peg in on modern Transformers). Minor gripes aside, I recommend this figure.

I really liked this character as a kid and it is truly ...
Out of the current generation of Transformers that I have, I have to say that Octone / Ocatane does the G1 Transformer the most respect! The robot form as well as the oil tanker / airplane forms really remind me of the original character (which is in my garage somewhere). I really liked this character as a kid and it is truly cool to see this updated version.

Well made toy
My 9 year old cannot put it down. Easy to assemble and transform.

Quality control issues ahoy.
Left wing and robot legs were floppy right out of the box and sticker on one of the legs in shuttle mode was already peeling. Robot mode still stands but attempting to put it into any dynamic poses would result in in toppling over most of the time. Wing could be resolved by flipping both over and having them point upward in robot mode instead of the intended way but the Wing will still flop in shuttle mode though. Truck mode was fine at least.

Truck mode is .. interesting. Unlike some mine holds together pretty good in the truck mode. The plane mode does not tab together very well however and for me doesn't look all that great. Robot mode is pretty much perfect and belongs in your collection, he looks great next to astrotrain and blitzwing

Muy buena adaptación del g1. La única pega, podrían haber mantenido el cromado del original.

Good figure for the price. The figure did have some issues with looser joints however.

The figure has a lot of detail and stands quite tall as seen in the picture. Has great articulation and makes for an ideal desk toy. The transformation is a bit complex but not too difficult. The only con I found with this product is in truck mode one of the windows don't fit in correctly which is quite common.

Kids love this Transformer - a bit complicated for younger ones but very well build and versatile!
