Blister Resist socks combine mohair and Drynamix for the perfect blend between nature and technology, keeping feet cool and dry. Drynamix wicks moisture away from the skin, while mohair has the ability to hold moisture and still keep feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. All of Balega's running socks have been race tested and incorporate a hand linked seamless toe, eliminating abrasion across the top of the foot. The company also knits an extra deep heel pocket ensuring that each sock fits the foot perfectly and does not slide down during a run. Designed with a medium volume construction. Drynamix Polyester 49%, Mohair 16%, Wool 16%, Acrylic 8%, Nylon 3%, Microfiber 3%, Neofil 3%, Elastane 2%.

The best athletic socks I've ever worn.
Every time I have to plunk down $20 for these socks, I get sticker shock. But I have to say these socks are well worth it. They are so comfortable -- I don't even know I'm wearing them. They've got the right amount of cushioning and stretch, all in the right places. They fit my feet (size 7 women) perfectly. I never get sweaty feet (just the rest of me). I can play or run in these in all conditions. I have no idea how much science goes into these socks, but it must be significant, because they are perfect (at least for me). They look nice too, although I wish they had more colors...

Best socks out there
Ive been using Balega socks for a few years now and they are hands down the best socks out there. I wear them for work, regular dress, and for running both trail and road. The fit and quality are amazing. Socks I have had for going on three years are still in great shape. They perform great in both wet and dry conditions which was a requirement for me. These are at the level of socks I have paid double and nearly triple the price for. Can't recommend these enough if you need socks that can handle heavy duty use.

Perfect running socks
Very comfortable running socks. My foot had room to breathe and didn’t bunch up under my foot. Highly recommended!

I am so prone to blisters but these socks have saved my feet! Just completed my backpacking trip with minimal pain thanks to these! On my way to purchase some more!

For dynamic wear: best support; low friction; dries fast
I have tried Darn Tough, SmartWool and REI varieties for hiking; and Balega Blister Resist with 30% Mohair have been the best performers (not the Enduro). Months on trails through Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas including up to 14 hour days in cold rain, plains heat and sub alpine terrains with backpack.Support: There are center support bands on the arch that for me feels great on my arch and seems to keep the sock from moving around compared to other socks. Even my a beaten compressed 3 year old pair still shows the center support holding. Additionally, a thinner, stretchy nylon is used on the top of the foot which may help with venting. A firmer nylon is used at the top of the ankle which has held up even on an older pair; with ankle issues, this feature is essential to me for the support.Moisture: I don't know if it's the mohair but my feet don't heat up as much and even in the hottest conditions (Badlands mid summer), the moisture is off my feet.Fit: The firm fit prevents any bunching or movement on my feet, which for other brands, would lead to blisters or irritated spots on my feet or toes. I would consider it a light to mid weight sock for cushioning. I prefer a firm sock with a generous fit in the toe box of my trail runners (full size up). The only time I had a blister was likely from lack of washing where the build-up of dust and grit decreased the functionality of the sock...fresh pair and Leukotape solved it.Wear: The Drynamix/Mohair part of the socks pill pretty quickly but hung in there and they functioned fine. Also there are two strips of nonfunctional stitching that comes apart quickly as well but still did not affect performance in my opinion. The only pairs that have holes are the retired ones I wear as slippers (for the comfort of the support) that got caught on nails popping from my hardwood floor--not a Balega issue.Maintenance: For on-trail use, they wash well and dry out overnight in the right conditions (lower humidity areas).Because everyone loves the Darn Tough lifetime warranty, I even tried them again. Great sock for short hikes in temperate conditions but I swear by Balega Blister Resists and stocked up. I rotate 3 or 4 at a time to give the fibers a break. I haven't thrown any away yet..even the ones I ripped in non-essential location!

Not quite blister resist for my very sweaty feet
Not quite blister resist, but still a really nice sock! 3.5 stars. I tried these on a through hike alongside Balega Enduro (basically the same sock but thinner), wearing them with Brooks cascadia shoes for about 8-14 mile days on varied terrain. They were great til I got hot and my feet sweat a lot. These definitely are amazingly cushiony and I didn’t get any blisters— til my feet started getting saturated with sweat, and the thickness of the socks didn’t allow them to dry quickly or evenly, inside my shoes or when pinned to the outside of my pack. However, the blisters I did get were smaller and way more manageable than with any other type of sock, and after I covered the blisters, the cushion of these socks was very welcome. So even if you do get blisters with these, it might be a better situation than another sock?Overall these still work great for other purposes and shorter hikes on colder days, and these would probably be ideal to wear with boots. Also my feet sweat quite a lot, so if you’re not on a long hike with very sweaty feet you might expect better results for the blister resist part. They’ve held up nicely in the laundry and have had no issues with pilling, the seam and weave are all tight and high quality. Good value for the money.

Best running socks
I absolutely love these socks for running. They provide some compression, prevent blisters, have good breathability, and won’t slide down. They are a bit pricey, but I’ve had my pairs for quite some while. They hold up very well and are durable. Worth the investment in my opinion and true to size. Has some stretch too.
