A Toy That Grows With The Child
My grandson received this toy as a gift when he was eleven months old. He turns three next month, and he still plays with it. There were activities appropriate for each skill level as he developed them. He started with turning dials. He moved on to putting blocks in a slot to see them fall through (cause /effect). The audio component reinforces letter name and number recognition. That's the part he's still using. It's colorful, hard plastic that can be washed off and sanitized. Our dog even chewed one of the blocks, and it still worked in the letter recognition mechanism. The battery lasts. We've never replaced the original one. I recently bought one for the grandchild of a friend because I was so impressed with my grandson's use. It's worth every cent of the price. An amazingly well-thought-out toy/ learning station.

Long Lasting Learning Play Cube
Love this product. My baby girl has been playing with it since before she could walk. Has helped with her fine motor skills and getting her up on her feet to walk. She is now about to be 2 and we are focusing on learning the letters and counting. I'm sure we will be using it until she is at least 4!

Baby easily spends 20 minutes at a time on it
Babies hardly play with toys BUT this toy is his favorite. He spends 15-20 minutes on it at a go and that too few times a day. I literally can finish most of my house work while he is playing with the cube. He has gained such good motor skills with the help of this cube. He is only 13 months old and he can place a block in the letter recogning slot already! There are so many new things for them to discover on it everyday.Highly recommended.Update: My kid is now 20 months old and he can recognize all the letters by just placing all the blocks in the slot. Still spends a good amount of time on it.

Very entertaining, lots of activities. Good for child to grow with.
This is a wonderful toy. My granddaughter who's 1 loves it. There are so many different activities to keep her entertained. And later she will be able to do things alone where she needs a little assistance now . Easy to get out of packaging. Essentially nothing needs to be assembled except putting on the 2 pieces shown sticking up with beads on them.

Drop a block into my chute or build up a tower on top of me!
Like most purchases, I did way too much research before buying this thing.Overall, this is a pretty cool activity cube for the money. I was looking at the Hape country critters one but if I'm going to spend $100 on an activity cube my son better play with it until he's 25. This one is a fraction of the price and so far he loves it.All the money spent building this toy went into one side--the one with the LCD screen and block recognizer. The other sides are mostly filler. Admittedly, the block recognizer is pretty cool. My son is a little young for this feature but he absolutely loves the chute. He stands there stuffing blocks down the chute like it's his job.In addition to the other sides being kind of underwhelming, there are a couple other drawbacks to this toy. The blocks don't quite stack together or on top of the cube very well. I think it's because the block identifier (plastic tabs on the bottom of the blocks) vary from block to block. So, when you're stacking blocks they topple over easily. I realize this is a small quibble but LEGO has perfected this mechanism, why not just copy them? The other thing is the looping sound effects. If you're just stacking blocks or spinning spinny things, the cube repeats the same TWO sounds over and over: a Goofy-like guffaw and a "Boing" sound. After ten minutes, you can start to feel the madness set in. The cube also periodically sings: "Drop a block into my chute or build up a tower on top of me!" This "song" has been stuck in my head for over a week now. It's the "It's a Small World" of activity cube songs. You've been warned. In conclusion, if you're looking for an inexpensive activity cube that your child will love and don't mind a little mild brainwashing, get this one.
