Hornady Die Wrench

Great wrench. Fits what it’s designed for.

Should have bought one of these a long time ago. It works great for tightening the plate nut, which is a complete struggle without this tool. The price always made me forego buying one, but after having multiple bullets get messed up because the plate nut wasn't tight, I bought one. It really works.

Nice tool for the loading press. Fits where most crescent wrenches won't. Perfect for holding shell plate during changing. Wish I had it years ago.

I bought this to go with my Hornady loading press. The price was right for a used item. I can't tell it was used and it works great.

The Hornady Deluxe Die Wrench is a handy little tool to have around if you own a Hornady Lock n Load AP progressive press. It's particularly helpful for snugging the bolt that holds down the shellplate. The little "bump" jutting out to the side of the open wrench end fits snugly in one of the stations of the shell plate to prevent it from rotating as you snug up the hold down bolt. It's also handy for snugging up the collet that sets the depth of the pin on the Hornady .223 resizing/depriming station. The closed wrench end is sized to tighten the collars that lock down on the LnL bushings, and it works fine, but I wish it was an open ended wrench since it can't slip over some of the larger accessories (such as to tighten the collar on the powder drop station, for example) since it can't fit over them to get to the collar. Also, one small quibble... it's more than adequate, but feels a little poorly machined (slightly rough around the edges, as if the CNC milling bit was getting dull, perhaps). I'm not sorry I bought it, but it could be a little more refined and I'd prefer that both ends of the wrench be open-mouthed.

Works well for keeping your setting

Great for getting into tight places when I have my LNL AP fully loaded with dies. With this Wrench around I don't have to keep several different wrenches and a couple of other tools in my reloading bench freeing up some room in the draws and helping to keep things neat when reloading. Keeping the workbench neat is very important when reloading. Is light weight and not bulky but is still very strong and works right the first time every time. Worth the little extra it costs, you get what you pay for.

Wenn man eine Hornady LNL Presse besitzt, ist dieser Schlüssel eigentlich ein Must have! Damit kann man die Shellplates erst richtig festziehen, ohne das sich die Schraube plötzlich wieder löst. Leider ist er relativ teuer für ein Stück Alu! Lieber schauen ob man woanders nicht das komplette Tool-Set bekommt, dass man an die LNL hinten befestigt! Dieses gibts dann für ein paar Euros mehr, allerdings ist da dann der Schlüssel auch schon mit drin!
