Dish Upgraded 54 Series Remote Control for The Hopper

I replaced a 54.1 UHF 2G remote for my Hopper 3 with this 54.3 UHF 2G remote. The new remote works just the same. The only thing I can’t confirm is the “by voice” search function. I don’t use it at all anyway, never have. This remote control is identical to my original except for the 54.3 designation. I’ve had to replace many other remotes for other devices in the last few months. It’s because my 16 month old dog loves the taste of plastic. She thinks everything is a chew toy. I’m probably going to buy another one of these for insurance against her destroying this one. I recommend getting one of these if you have a dog like this, even if you don’t need a replacement remote yet. Edit: I ordered another one from the same seller after the first one worked perfectly. The second one arrived today (2 days later) and also works perfectly. It’s even a 54.1 like the original one I’m replacing. I’ll put it aside for now to use when my dog destroys my other new one. I’ll have at least one good remote to return with the receiver when I finally cancel my subscription. Edit 2: 4July2026 My dog destroyed my Dish Network remote last night, so I had to get the extra one to start using it now. So, I decided to order another one for insurance on the new one I’m using. If I don’t keep one in storage, she’ll leave me unable to use the receiver someday. I’ll say it again, if you have a young, playful dog, keep one of these in storage just in case. The same for any other remotes you have and use. Keep a replacement handy.

It was very easy to sync new remote to the Dish Hopper. I found the instructions on the Dish App, it took a few seconds to sync the remote.

These remotes are so much better than the original dish remotes. They connect so quickly and work flawlessly. Guests frequently lose them and this is less expensive than ordering from dish directly (and easier to get- not spending 20 minutes on hold with Dish Network)

Perfect!! Was surprised how easy it was to program as a replacement to our old one. I am 74 and figured it out so don’t hesitate to buy this one. Cheaper than buying from Dish

It’s a dish remote. It’s the newer one. It works good and it replaced one that had started to wear out and the buttons were no longer working 100% of the time.. very easy to pair inside the menu of the dish receiver. You just go to pair new remote pair this one and then remove the old remote.
