This automatic feeder has multiple feed times and has a portion range up to 20 for larger portions. 20 nearly fills the bowl, which has a great anti-ant bowl insert. That is crucial if you want to prevent bugs like ants from lining up your food source. You can customize the feeding by adding your voice. This gets the pets excited to eat when they hear your voice and associate it with food time. You can use this with all kinds of animals. We use this for ducks, ferrets, and dogs to give you an idea of its vast potential. It runs on usb power or battery. The battery lasts super long (months) so if you’re taking a trip, this would work for you if you need to leave behind your animal friends.

It's a bit noisy, but as it's for while we are away, not a big deal. The portion seems consistent and it worked the full week we were gone (we do have a friend/cat-sitter check in every other day for boxes and water - and it was feeding as programmed).The recording seems quite useless. Mine came pre-recorded with some sort of shouting in what may have been Mandarin. I think it must have been tested at the factory. I re-recorded (hadn't intended to), and it's barely understandable. It seems more likely to frighten a cat than attract it... but the food part works fine.

This machine has brought our family so much peace of mind. My father in law unfortunately passed away three months ago. We did not have much time to prepare ourselves for his passing or the responsibility of maintaining his home 200 miles from our home. One of our greatest concerns were the sweet little farm cats. We can only be at the farm house once a week, and having local people come to the property daily to feed the cats was not the best option. We also could not bring them home, because the city we live in does not allow any outdoor cats, and these kitties are so happy in the country. After extensive searching on Amazon, I came across this little machine about two months ago, and I absolutely love it. We have it placed in an area of the porch that does not get wet during any rainfall or storms. We have the timer set to feed the largest portion possible four times a day, which has been plenty enough to keep our three farm cats happy. We fill the hopper when we leave the property, and there is still about 1/3 of the food left after a week. The lid locks perfectly so the raccoons cannot binge on the entire stock of food. We did decide to surround the feeder with cinderblocks so it can't be tipped over (the food would still be secure, but the hopper would not be able to dispense food if it's on its side). We have come home to find muddy raccoon handprints all over the unit, but the food is secure and still doing its job feeding our kitties. The battery backup is useful for if the power is lost while we're gone. Between this machine and a camera pointed straight at it, we are able to relax a bit knowing that the farm cats are happy and healthy while we work on getting our life arranged to move to the farm house.

This is exactly the type of product we were looking for. We don’t like to leave our cat for long periods of time but if work runs late I know this will feed him at his usually dinner time. Easy to set up and use!

My cat got it open on top a couple times. She can also put her paw into the opening where the food comes out and push a couple extra pieces out. The display doesn't light up like it does in the photo. I bought a different one from sobralik that I like a lot more than this one.

I am planning to travel a few days and my cat has to stay home for a while, so I decided to get an automatic feeder. The feeder has a large container. I think it's good for more than a month. It allows you to set 4 meals per day. You can set the number of servings on each meal depends on your pet's diet. It also has a backup battery option just in case, which it's amazing!! If you are going to a trip it will be a great option!My cat learns how to use it within a couple days. It's so convenient! I love it! And I can go to my trip without any concern!! I highly recommend it to people want to travel but need to leave the pet at home.
