Big sound out of this tiny speaker!
When this arrived, I was shocked by how small it was-- I was expecting it to be more like 6-7" wide, but it's closer to 4", maybe less. My first thought was that it was going to be yet another cheap, tinny sounding speaker to add to the pile, but I was pleasantly surprised at the sound this thing produces. No, it's not going to be the best audio you've ever heard, but for its size and price, the sound is actually very loud and rich, with unexpected bass. It's loud enough that the thing actually moves around on certain surfaces due to the vibration. I bought this as a waterproof speaker to use while kayaking and had low expectations, but it actually packs quite a punch-- you can't go wrong with this for the price. It sounds as good or better than bigger and more expensive speakers I've purchased in the past.HOWEVER, the SD card slot is insanely difficult to use-- I won't dock it any stars for this because 95% of users will only be connecting via Bluetooth anyway, but the only way to play audio from the SD card is to insert it after the device has been powered on. If you turn the power on after an SD card has been inserted, it will simply default to Bluetooth mode-- at that point, the only way to use the SD card is to remove it and put it back in again while the speaker is still powered on. The problem is that the SD card is INSANELY difficult to insert and remove. It's almost impossible to do it unless you have really long fingernails or some other sort of tool, such as a tiny flathead screwdriver. My main reason for purchasing this was to have a standalone speaker that I didn't have to connect a Bluetooth device to for times when I'm at remote locations with no cell service, but the only way for me to use it with an SD card is to carry around some other tool that allows me to remove the card, turn on the power, then re-insert the card. If you're playing music in SD card mode and you turn the device off, you will need to remove and re-insert the card again the next time you turn it on, which is painfully difficult (or impossible) without some sort of tool to help you do that.

Excellent sound
First off, I was surprised about the weight of this speaker. It's light, but feels rugged and very well made. It feels nice in the hand but not really something that I would carry in my hand. The carabiner clip seems a bit flimsy, but seems to work fine. It synched quickly to my Galaxy S8, and automatically started playing the songs I have downloaded. The sound is absolutely amazing, with really good bass. Works great as a Bluetooth speaker. I loaded some songs onto an sd card, and using the included instructions, was able to get much playing quite well. I'm not exactly sure in what order the songs are played, but definitely happy with that feature. While plugged into my computer, I was given the option to either use it as an external drive or just charge, which would activate it as a speaker for my computer, even bringing up the default windows media player. I was able to use other music programs, and videos as well. So, all in all, it is an amazing little device. Does exactly what it's meant to do, and pleasantly surprised with weight and sound, especially the bass. Had the table it was sitting on rumbling. I haven't used it until battery drain, so can't provide an actual length of time for usage. I originally intended to use this at work, but seemed to nice to take it there. I'll find other uses for it.

All About Sound
This is a commentary specifically about the MIFA F10 portable speaker.Disclaimer: I know nothing about either sound or music. This is simply observations about a speaker I bought and have used for a couple months now. Any credibility I may have comes from the knowledge of having used several different speakers.Unlike any other MIFA speaker, the F10 is about sound, the production of vibrations that create sound. Hold this speaker in your hand and you will FEEL the sound. Place it on a hard surface and it will literally dance. It plays music in a way I like to hear it, powerfully. That said, I can always distinguish among bass sound, mid-range sounds and highs. There is a surprising level of clarity in the sound. I am impressed enough that I've been trying to get this speaker's big brother. They make an F7 that is essentially two of these M10 speakers in one case. Amazon doesn't sell it anymore; I'm trying to get one from China, perhaps by next month. If I can get one, I'll update this with a comparative report. This seems to be a device aimed primarily at harsh use environments. I see it being thrown into tool bags, backpacks, lockers and such. It claims some water and dust rejection, and it's heavily armored with a thick rubber coat. I don't know how well that will protect from impact shocks, but it feels much tougher than any MIFA speaker I've seen.As much as I love listening to this F10 speaker, I can only give it four stars. It has some downsides. They include:1.) No Auxiliary port. You can't plug in a music source and listen on this speaker. It is possible to link it to a computer using the micro SD port. The computer will see this as a sort of external drive and you can direct music files that will play through this speaker. You're not going to do that with a smart phone or MP3 player. A comparably sized MIFA speaker, the A1 has an Auxiliary port. I can only presume they have packed so much sound-making hardware into the F10 that there is no room for the Aux port.2.) No stereo capability. I have two MIFA A10 speakers that can be paired to produce a stereo effect. I don't know if it's a true stereo, but you can get sound from multiple sources. The F10 has no such capability. This drawback seems outside the intended scope of this unit. I think it's meant to be a single sound producing element for just about any environment. I can see this on a factory floor, a construction site, a mountain assault, a military operation, etc.3.) Poor tactile feedback. The heavy rubber armoring makes it difficult to press buttons and to sense a positive response. With other MIFA speakers I have, you can feel that a button has been positively engaged. The F10 gives you audible feedback, but it's nice to feel you've engaged it correctly. This is especially problematic for me when you have to double tap the button. For example, you press the power button to turn it on, and you get an audible feedback. If you're using it in Bluetooth mode you can simply pair and go. If you have a micro SD card installed, you have to do a quick double tap on the power button to access the SD card. If you don't make the taps quickly enough, it doesn't work. And if you can't feel whether you've engaged the button or not, you may not actually make a double tap. It takes some getting used to. Most troublesome would seem to be that in difficult environments you may be wearing gloves, and operating the buttons could be very difficult. Also, this unit does not work as my other MIFA speakers work in skipping and going back. With other speakers a long press on the plus button will access the next track in line. This F10 does not do that, and sometimes it just dumps you at some random track. I've never figured out any rhyme or reason for this. Perhaps mine is just defective in this regard; more likely I'm defective (user error).4.) Indistinct markings. The buttons are marked by simple indentations. There is no color differential or any way of making them distinct enough to easily see. Also, they are vague. The minus is fine for down volume. The plus is fine for up volume. But the power button has a minus inside a circle. So many times I went to quickly turn the volume down and hit the power button by mistake because it's so like the minus button.5.) Low volume in Bluetooth mode. As many have previously suggested, more volume would be desirable when Bluetooth paired. This is not particular to the F10, every Bluetooth speaker has this shortcoming. Even when pairing a sound source to a high-end tuner-amplifier, volume has to be turned up to extreme levels to get decent sound. When using the micro SD card, the F10 gets louder than I can comfortably listen in a typical room. It's easily loud enough to hear in a moving car with the windows down.6.) No shuffle capability. When using a micro SD card, there is no way I know to shuffle play. It just plays songs in file order, then starts at the beginning again when it's run through the list.I've said this unit is about sound. One thing I've liked is the audible low battery warning. It starts sounding a series of repeating beeps when the battery needs to be recharged. The A1 speaker flashes a red light that is barely visible and will only be seen if you're looking for it and directly at the speaker when battery is low. I've never heard an audible alarm with the A10 speakers although I have gone to use one and found it dead. It may give a visual alarm, but I've never seen it.The micro SD card slot is inconvenient to use, but that's not unusual with these speakers. One thing I've learned is that when taking the card out, once released all you have to do is turn it upside down and the card will drop out into your hand.Battery life on MIFA speakers is always outstanding. The F10 is no exception. It takes more hours than I care to listen to take a battery to zero! And they recharge relatively quickly, a couple of hours, if that. Finally, this is a unique speaker. If you want to hear real sound, I strongly recommend it. Great vibrations!
