It's amazing how having the right tool for the job makes ...
It's amazing how having the right tool for the job makes the job easy and more enjoyable. I've always had cheap knives, and I've tried many including the ceramic ones. Eventually the all go dull, come loose at the tang, and you can't sharpened the ceramic knives. I got introduced to the Global band when I purchased a set of this style Global steak knives a year ago at Bed Bath & Beyond on sale (+ coupon), and then later on Amazon. I trashed all my old dull broken stead knives. I recently purchased the larger knife sets that match the steak knives. Also threw away all the dull kitchen and chef knives incl the ceramic ones - waste of money. This style is all one piece which I love, and wickedly sharp, comfortable in the hand. I also purchased the smaller sized sharpener recommended by Global sold on Amazon. Haven't used the sharpener yet. Highly recommend these knives.

Comfortable, well balanced, holds edge. GREAT PRICE
If you cook, if believe misen place is the key to a fabulous meal, if you take pride in presentation you need a good knife. I own several of this company's knives. They were recommended by 2 professional chefs. They have held their edge and are remarkably comfortable for a smaller hand. The solid metal blade/handle design avoids any possibility of bacteria lingering in nooks, screws heads or in wooden handles.

Love these!
Global are one of the best, if not the best, brands of knives out there. My cousin who was a restaurant owner had these in her kitchen at home which is where I first used them. This 2 piece set adds to the other Global knives I haveat home in my kitchen. They are usually the first knives I turn to and are always up for the job. My husband was reading a Bobby Flay BBQ cookbook and asked me if I knew about Global knives, ha, I had to say to him have you looked at the knives we use most often?!

1 paring and one useless knife
I was expecting 2 paring knives instead. The short one is a paring knife and the longer one is a high priced steak knife. Upon reading the description a 2nd time I see the reference to micro serrations that I hadn't noticed. It never mentions it being dull by steak knife standards. Just thought I'd mention it. You can't notice until you cut the nylon wire ties and get them out. I should add that I really like all the Global brand knives I own except the one.

Worst Global Knives. Small Slim Handles Hard to Hold. Butter Knives At Best...
These are my least favorite Global knives in my collection... If these can even be considered Global knives. Not just dull in comparison to other Global knives. They are just plain dull. Dull even by butter knife standards. And the handles are light and way too slim and small even for me (petite 5'2"). Not comfortable to hold... Can never get a good grip. Not useful. Hardly can be considered utility. I butter bread and spread jam with these. Good for making sandwiches, that's about it. To cut the sandwich in half, still need a different knife.Maybe I got knock offs, but packaging looked legitimate.

This knife combo makes no sense
Mmmmmkay, so...the price was right. Two globals for $80 is a good deal on any planet. Also, the packaging looks legit. But why would you package one steak knife with one paring knife? Steak knives are things you get out on steak night, and since you usually have friends over that night, you usually need more than one. The GSF-23 in this package is only serrated (sharpened) towards the very tip, to boot (because it's made only for eating steak off a plate and nothing else), so if you want to use it like a real utility knife you'll need to spend hours on the grinder first. On top of all that, the serrated part is pretty dull. So, in this $80 package, you get one useful paring knife with one friendless, steak-only knife that is meant to be used a few times a year. Perfect for when you want to peel a zucchini while eating an already-cooked steak, but unfortunately that need has not yet presented itself for me.

This is a steak knife not the utility knife
I love global knives but I was under the assumption that I was getting two straight knives. I'm sure the steak knife is great but it's not what had in mind when buying a utility knife
