Even without E cores the extra threads help keep things moving during gaming and recording. As a content creator I rely a lot on strong single core and multicore performance and this CPU handled my workflow without stutters or slowdowns. For a budget chip that can handle games and light to mid workloads this CPU is an absolute killer. Also, being 12th Generation, it doesn't have any of the downsides of earlier or LATER generations: 13th and 14th can burn themselves out, slowly over time. This 12th Generation does not have that flaw! I haven't overclocked this thing, I just slapped it into a mobo a couple of years ago. It's currently paired with an AMD 6800XT and it plays all the games I throw at it just fine.
