The Misfits

Unsure of this one, usually love Shandi's books and have read all of them but this foray into mental health is not her expertise and not an appropriate area (in my opinion) for a dark romance. In fairness though, it does round out some of the Perception series and it's quite a provocative look at how people with mental health conditions are treated.

If you are looking for a book with a lot of mono logs, self narrative and lack of sex then this would be a good book for you the story is compelling however does drag and does have some unnecessary twists.Story 2/5Spicey 2/5

So that wasn’t quite what I was expecting! But you can certainly say one thing, Shandi always puts her all into any book she writes! Well this book really was an eye opener,so differant from the ones I had read by this author in the past, dark and compelling a real page turner

Well, all I will say is you must read this book with an open mind but you MUST read it. I was left gobsmacked, emotional and intrigued with every page I read. I just didn't know when to stop, I couldn't stop.It touches a lot of sensitive subjects so best checking before hands if it will trigger you. I am OK with dark Romance but this was beyond Dark. As bad as both H and h are I loved them both. All their behaviour makes sense now. It's so so heartbreaking. I had to put my kindle down a few times just to process what I read. There is some blood play, there is lots of gory details and there is a love story. Not the conventional love story but a love story in their own twisted way.I cried at the end, Shandi knows how to make me always cry with her books. Does it make me a crazy for loving both the crazy characters? maybe, but you will fall in love with them trust me. What a gut wrenching story. Very tragic but I won't tell you the ending because I think you need to read it to feel it. Thank you Shandi for giving me an ARC copy and this is my honest review. This is the most I've written about a book. That's how much it consumed me. I need to sleep to catch from past 2 nights haha.

I received an ARC of this bookWOW!!!!! This book is amazing, I couldn’t put it down!!This is the story of Dexter and Megan who have both been in previous series, but this can be read as a standalone. These two are absolutely perfect for each other in every way. However, this is a dark romance and both of these characters are very disturbed and this is NOT a redemption story. This is their own psychotic love story.I loved this book so much and if you’re a lover of dark romance I highly recommend you give this a read!

What have I just read! Mind blown! I loved it, who knew 2 crazies would make such an amazing couple. Megan was really quite endearing- can’t believe I am writing that! When you hear hers and Dexters back story my heart melted for them, no one should have an upbringing like that. These 2 were made for each other, they accepted each other for what they were and at the end of the day made each other happy. They fought to be together and thank goodness for the epilogue! A fantastically dark book- you have been warned no sweet love story here, but a love story none the less! I loved it.

I do not want people to regard it as such..this is just my opinion on reading material and others may disagree.I have read other books by Shandi Boyes and enjoyed them, but this one is different in the writing.It is dark and sinister; it was identified being this in the prefix. There is drama, fear, uncertainty and mystery in the writing.
