Peril's Character Lit Up This Book!
Thoughts: I am literally blown away by this book. Sutherland has really outdone herself - in fact, I feel like her books only continue to improve. That's not to say that I didn't have a few issues with this book - but those were very minimal and hardly took away from the story. The plot was the only issue I had, actually. It felt like Sutherland wrote this whole book, and then decided that the ending wasn't memorable enough so she added in half of the next book to leave us on a cliffhanger (it worked). This, I found, was very frustrating, despite the added tension and excitement. Other than that, this book was amazing! I loved every one of the characters and how they've evolved over this series, although I would've liked to see some more of Winter, Kinkajou, and Qibli, some of my favorite characters. Peril's character was spot-on - the entire time, you could really feel her emotions. Although I originally wasn't too excited about the prospect of a book dedicated to Peril, I grew to love her character and was rooting for her by the end of the book. I loved the twist, too, and how it tied in with the brilliant prologue. The writing didn't stray far from its normal humor, suspense, and adventure - honestly, I think that the Wings of Fire series is the best series for middle grade readers. And although this book took a bit of a dark turn at the end, I'll be eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series.

prophesied
I am a school librarian. I bought this book at the end of the school year. My 5th and 6th grade students found it first and I couldn't keep it on the shelf. My 5th and 6th grade students love this series. Each book in the series continues the story of the Dragons of Destiny. It was prophesied the Dragons of Destiny would stop the war and name the new Queen. The Dragons of Destiny were taken from their families/ tribes as eggs. They were kept in a cave for their safety. Their only knowledge of the outside is from scrolls. After running away, they go in search of their lost families, try of figure out how they are suppose to stop the war and struggle with who deserves to be queen. During these adventures the dragons find the beliefs and dreams of their families and tribes are not always in line with reality. Each book chronicles their adventures.I recommend this book.

descriptive, gory, funny
I am back to reading another Wings of Fire book! This one is called Escaping Peril, and it is all about Peril, a Skywing with the firescales. And it is about Peril trying to find the ex-queen Scarlet. There is some gore in the book but it is only in some small parts. And war is violent and vicious and pretty terrible, always, so why hide it? I loved reading Escaping Peril (Book Eight of the Wings of Fire series) by Tui Sutherland, and recommend it to all little bunnies who like dragons. Really good, but not amazing like the others.
The Wings of fire is a really good series with an excellent story line, and all the books have been very interesting and fast paced but for some reason this book wasn't the best. It got slow at times and some parts where admittedly rather boring. The ending was good but sections of Escaping Peril where either too fast or too slow. I hope the next book can be better, because i am looking foward to reading it. The other books on the other hand are amazing, they are a great read.

Fantastic Book
My grandson has been reading this series and had requested this, as it was the next one for him to read in this series. It came very quickly, the graphics are excellent, was just a tad pricey.
