Will this work with Raspberry Pi 2?

No. It will work momentarily but it will disconnect from the network after 5 mins. SSH sessions drop within 2 minutes. This is using Rasbian so it may work better on a different OS

Is there a similar device that will connect a tablet to my computer without wires?

No, there isn't. But, if your computer is bluetooth compatible, you can connect your tablet to your PC via bluetooth technology.

how many meters does it pick up a wireless?

I have been unable to determine its effective range but I live in a two-story house with a basement and I can take my laptop anywhere in the house without losing my wireless connection.
