Good for windowless bathrooms
Helpful in extra rooms that are used infrequently. Also perfect in windowless bathrooms. We have gotten several of these and one kapooted after maybe six months, but the rest are all going strong. Extremely useful and easy to use. The light does indicate when it needs to be emptied. When it's still okay it is green and when it needs changed it turns amber. They make a little bit of noise like a small desk fan. No odors. None of the ones we have has ever proved electrically hazardous. All have operated safely. The frequency of emptying depends on the size and humidity level of the room it is in. It contains the water well and by design cannot leak as long as all the pieces are intact. It will turn off when it is full, but the indicator light will remain on. The unit doesn't really get warm when running so heat isn't an issue with these. Doesn't take up much space so it can easily sit on top of a cabinet, counter or shelf.

ineffective below 60% RH
I live in NW FL and have a dust mite allergy, so managing the relative humidity (RH) in my home is a bit of a hobby of mine. After receiving this product, I obviously went to testing its effectiveness and was very disappointed to find out that it can barely pull water from humidity levels below ~60%. I bought this strictly for use in a small bathroom that has poor ventilation in my house. It's about 30 sq ft in size, a small exhaust vent, no windows, and a small door into a long hallway that makes natural ventilation difficult. After a shower one morning, when the RH in the room easily gets into the mid 70's. I flipped on the device and went to work. On returning home, the RH in the room was 64% and there was only a few ounces of water in the collection tank. It made no sense since it wasn't a particularly humid day outside (60's) and the rest of the house actually had a RH level in the mid 50's.I've used this now several days under different circumstances, running other full sized dehumidifiers in the home, and at one point when I had the whole house down to 48%, I flipped this thing on in the bathroom and it actually INCREASED the RH in the bathroom (this most likely as a result of the fact that a by product of the fan running is heat, and warmer air can hold more water). For the life of me, I can't figure out how this product garnered such great reviews. The only thing I can reason is that people ran the machine, appreciated that it's quiet, eventually noticed some water collected in the tank, and thought it was a miracle device. Please don't purchase as this is unlikely to do anything for your space.

WONDERUL!!
Purchased one in 2019 for my laundry closet in Central Humidity FL & it still makes me smile with its very quiet service of helping to keep my home drier—a long with some bigger dehumidifiers scattered around. I swish it with a bit of 70% alcohol after each empty, to keep its bucket clean and use a small vacuum brush, inside & out about 2-3 X/year to keep the dust bunnies from clogging it up! Dehumidifiers don’t work on a dime, so keep it & your ceiling fans (which also help dehumidify the air, furniture, walls,…) on all of the time during the humid times of the year to be most effective. Would love to find bigger ones, by this company, to replace my other much noisier ones!

Seems to work fine, quiet for a dehumidifier
I'm curious about the negative reviews here. My apartment has a serious mold problem that my landlord refuses to fix. I installed one of these units near two windows with excessive mold. It collects a full container of water every two days and has for a month. It certainly doesn't dehumidify the range that it specifies (150 cubic feet: no. More like 7-14 cubic feet, if I can guess), but it works. I've noticed a huge decrease in mold in my window sills and in the corners of the room. My next step is to buy a hydrometer and measure the change in a more concrete manner. There may be inconsistency in the manufacturing; if your unit isn't collecting water, it might be defective. Try returning it and getting another. As for noise, it creates a small amount of white noise. My last apartment had a massive dehumidifier that was so loud that it frightened my pets. People describing this unit as 'quiet' are probably comparing it to larger, louder dehumidifiers. If you've never had a dehumidifier, you will definitely notice a new sound in your living space, but for me it tends to fade into the background.I think I'll probably end up buying two more, one for the kitchen and one for the bedroom. Wish that it had a larger range, but I honestly can't think of anything negative about this unit except the deceptive advertising behind falsely stating such a large range.

This Is A Workhorse!
I bought this over a year ago for my basement and it is a workhorse! My basement is humid and this little guy pulls a container of water out of the air everyday and would pull more if I remembered to empty it more often. For example, if I empty the container before leaving for work, it will be full (and automatically shuts off) when I return at the end of the day. So, if I had bought one twice the size, it might be still hard at work when I get home. The dehumidifier runs quietly (much more quietly than the blower fan I set up on a timer down there) and I could not tell you if uses a lot/little electricity. We have five rooms (only two have doors) in our basement and I am convinced this product is doing everything it was advertised to do but our environment is too large for it can handle. Our living space is very wide open and requires a much bigger dehumidifier but I believe this would be great for a smaller, fully enclosed room.
