Cheaper than a NEW PRINTER?
I have learned the hard way from buying cheaper off generic brand ink compatible cartridges (Epson & Canon) only to have my printer clogged up or leaking with ink that ruined a couple of good printers. Yes, the off brand inks will work for awhile, but will produce slight color variations in the finished quality print and eventually WILL CLOG your print heads and leak. Printers are much cheaper now and YES, the price of NAMED BRAND ink cartridges cost as much as the printer but that's the price of QUALITY CONTROL to maintain your printer working in top form for many years. I purchased the CLI-221 (4pk COLOR INK) and the CLI-220 (3pk BLACK INK)for the third time in a row without any problems. To me this is a lot cheaper than the head aches and time consumed measured in hours or days of not completing a print job and the mess of cleaning from a clogged or leaking print head inside my nice printer that is now worthless. Also add the time that it takes to drive (gasoline) to a local store and get a new printer to replace your clogged or leaking printer. If you want to save some serious bucks go to AMAZON for the best ink prices and best printers prices too, if time is not of the essence and still no tax and with FREE SHIPPING to my house! I will not compromise my time nor quality ever again, to save a few dollars that will cost me triple the amount including a new printer to replace from a clogged or leaking printer by using off brand generic ink compatible cartridges. THANK YOU AMAZON FOR A SUPER DEAL ON A GENUINE CANON PRODUCT!

Very happy with our Canon
We purchased a Canon MP 560 last winter from Amazon and have been very pleased with its performance. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the proprietary software used for scanning: it's very limited compared to what was available on the computer...I just haven't been able to get the scanner to work without utilizing the Canon linkage. This set of cartridges is the second we have purchased since we bought the printer (and it may be some time before I have to start using it), so we're not going through ink all that quickly. The shelf life of the cartridges seems good, and I like that you can actually see that the old cartridge is empty when you go to replace it. Of course, the quality of Canon ink is super, and the feedback you get from paying extra for that little chip in the cartridge is a nice feature. And the price for the four-pack was pretty good. We've had zero issues with clogged heads, dried-up ink, etc.

Still prints just fine after more than a decade
The Canon ink that I buy hasn't let me down so far in terms of print quality, so I have no complaint there. The printed output looks good, and the ink cartridges are (so far) still readily available. The issue that I have is how the ink is used up faster than I'd expect it to be. I read a consumer reporting magazine article which noted that one of most expensive fluids on earth (by unit volume) is printer ink. Even the cheapest ink in replacement cartridges is about $13 per ounce, which I gather is more than twice the cost (by unit volume) of Dom Pérignon Champagne. The most costly ink costs close to $95 per ounce. Reportedly, this is why some printer manufacturers don't provide full ink cartridges with a new inexpensive printer, as they can more quickly make their money back when you buy their ink. In any case, it's best to print as many jobs one after another as possible, since ink gets used up every time the printer prepares to print after some period of being idle. My printer still works fine after more than a decade, so I'll stick with it as long as I can.

Works fine in IP4700
I put the cyan cartridge when it ran out and the print became orange. No problem, the new cartridge works fine. Sure the price of Canon ink is expensive but at least my IP4700 let me print until the last drop, bypassing the "low ink" warning signals. I own an IP6600D also, which does not let me print passed the "low ink" warning signal, that pissed me that 40% of ink is wasted this way. I successfully used a blue chip resetter (read below too) to pass the "low ink" warning. I tried to refill my cartridges with syringe and melting glue as detailed here: http://www.amazon.com/Anyone-try-Canon-compatible-yet/forum/Fx392J2FFJSQMJV/Tx1RFNV4OPV9F8Q [...] I have used my blue resetter for my refilled (empty Canon original) cartridge too: [...] the chip was damaged after resetting. I think that Canon makes these chips very fragile so that they can not last. I am back to buying original Canon ink cartridges.

What can I say about this ink?!?
It is always a lot of fun to review a product that you either need or you don't. If you have one of the Canon printers that requires this ink - as I do - you either use it or you don't. (If you don't, you won't be able to print out this five-star review!) Seriously, though, from my long experience with Canon printers (and other products), I highly recommend purchasing these genuine Canon ink cartidges. The quality always seems to be better than the do-it-yourself refills or the off-brand refills from other sellers. (I have nothing against these refill-sellers - in fact, not only do I wish that the quality was as reliable, but I highly recommend that you recycle the empty OEM cartidges so that they can be re-used in the refill market.) The Canon ink that I bought here from Amazon is very reasonably priced, and is the high-quality stuff. My black printouts seem blacker, my yellows more yellow, and I am sure that (when I replace the cyan cartridge) the cyans will be cyan-er. (For New Englanders, I would like to say that the magentas are more magenter.) Enjoy your Canon ink. (Hopefully, you also enjoyed this goofy late night review, too!)

I haven't printed anything in colors since I bought this, which was about 3 months ago. This week, while printing, there was a warning that cartridges needed to be changed. No, I don't recommend this item.
