I wish I could give it six stars!
In a day, it killed off an ant colony I had been fighting for years. It's amazing! I wish I had known of this bait years ago.

It works a little less reliabaly than expected.
Used as directed, this product killed most of the ant mounds but several times, the ants just moved to a new location. I would say, it had an 75% - 80% kill rate.

This Stuff Really Works!
Having used regular Amdro perimeter ant bait successfully for several years in Virginia I decided to try Amdro Fire Ant Killer Bait Granules here in South Carolina where fire ants are a way of life. We paid a professional pest control company $600 to treat our property 3 times ($1,800) with a guarantee of an effectiveness of 6 months. Three months later fire ant hills were sprouting up all around the yard. I still had some of the regular Amdro perimeter ant bait so I'd sprinkle it on the fire ant hills between treatments when the professional pest control company failed to show up to honor their guarantee and retreat. I decided this would be worth a shot and was amazed how fast it worked. I keep the jug on the floor of my mower and every time I spot a new hill being careful not to disturb it I stop and treat it and sure enough the next time I mow that mound is inactive. That said, there was one time when I had to treat a hill twice, but that was when we had an unexpected storm within hours of treating it with rain so hard I expected to see animals start lining up 2 by 2.

Helps with Little Fire Ants (LFA), not just regular Fire Ants.
We have Little Fire Ants (LFA) which are very different from regular fire ants. I was stung by one and it was awful, the burn and sting diminished over 2 weeks. This product does not list LFA but The Hawaii Ant Lab says it doe work on them, along with their proven Tango mixture. They have been working on LFA treatments since 2005 and have it down tight with specific instructions. Just look up Hawaii Ant Lab and follow the directions. LFA is not like any other ant or even standard Fre Ant. LFA are arboreal ants (they are in the trees) so they are treated very differently with a two-pronged approach. Hope this helps you if you have LFA.

Excellent prodct
This red ant killer made the ants works the best. It made my ants move out of my horse and cattle areas very easily. I will definitely us again.
