Works well with my Sony A5000. Cord is the sufficient length. Overall quality and feel is very good. This product is a good addition to any tripod photography. Delivery was FAST - Recommend this seller ( Five Stars)

I bought this due to the impossibility of obtaining a Sony RMVPR1 and, having received it, I have discovered that it was all I needed at a fraction of the price. It was delivered promptly by Foto Tech and if all you need is a remote shutter release for your (appropriate) Sony camera then this is ALL you need.

I grew up with mechanical cable releases, and a "wired remote" does essentially the same thing. I have relied on the Canon equivalent for years -- no batteries or complex electronics to fail. This Foto&Tech unit is simple, inexpensive, and works great with my Sony RX10m4.

This remote has only one button: a shutter release for still photography. Pressing it halfway will activate autofocus just like the button on your camera. You can slide it forward to lock it down and slide it back to unlock it. More expensive alternatives to the Foto&Tech include video start-stop and W-T zoom (which only matters if you have a powered zoom lens). Other alternatives include a transmitter and receiver for wireless operation, but they require batteries for both TX and RX. If you just need a vibration-free shutter release, and you need precise timing (so the camera's built-n 2-second delay option won't do), this is your very low-cost, high-quality solution. It does the exactly same job as the old mechanical SLR cable-releases.
