Six Star Whey Isolate Plus Protein Powder, 100% Whey Protein Isolate, French Vanilla, 1.5 Pounds

Bought this item after trying the Six Star Pro Nutrition Elite Series Whey Protein Powder Chocolate (great product also). This item has the smallest sense of grittiness (not over powering at all) that I like as it kinda brings back the texture of protein powders from years ago. This powder is the smoothest, best and easiest mixing protein I have ever bought. I have lifted weights for 20 years on and off trying many a brand of protein powders, and for the high protein content, 30g per scoop (and not a huge laundry soap scoop), this is the best. The taste is awesome too. Many reviewers made me skeptical, but it is really a pleasant vanilla taste with very little after-taste. The little after-taste that you do get does not really taste like coconut to me, but I can't say I know what it tastes like either. It's very subtle, smooth and almost unnoticeable. Many say this product is no good because you can buy it from W-mart, but who cares. Don't buy it; more for me. On a budget, 30 grams is 30 grams and for a good price when it goes on sale, it's definitely a best buy!I usually use a sports bottle to shake it up in (no filter plate) and it mixes up just fine. I have tried it with half milk / half water and with all milk. It's great both ways. Maybe a little thicker with all milk. If you do get a small clump, let it stand for a minute after shaking, then shake again. It's smooth as silk; I love it!Best thing about this product is that it does not give me gas. I have compared it to what most people consider the best (ON) and I like this better and it's much cheaper and made from the makers of Muscletech.Will buy again for sure and would recommend too!UPDATE - JAN 2015They just couldn't leave things alone. A few months ago I purchased another order and found that the content of the product had been changed; very disappointing. You used to get 30g of protein in a 33g scoop, now you get 30g of protein out of a 37g scoop - what's in the extra 4 grams? Does not seem to mix as well. Only buy if it goes on sale (below 8 dollars/pound). I will not totally exclude this product, but is no longer my number one. Originally posted as 5 stars...

The first thing I noticed about this protein was that it actually tasted good. The vast majority of protein I buy, I usually avoid vanilla because for some reason that is usually the flavor most companies screw up the most. It also blends very well in both milk and water.I would give it five stars but I feel the label is a bit deceptive. On the front it clearly states "60g" of protein. So I would expect that the serving size be for 60g of protein. And this was actually the sole reason I purchased this product was to get more protein in my diet as instructed by my trainer. Instead, the nutrition label shows it is actually only half of that. So in order to get the 60g as advertised on the front, you have to use two scoops which that in and of itself is not bad, but you got from 17 servings to only 8.5. So you would need to buy four of these in order to get a full month supply so I do feel I was deceived a little.

I love vanilla flavor but have found most powdered whey protein supps to have a more or less disgusting vanilla flavor, I'm not sure what they do to it but I've always ended up saving vanilla's for cooking and combining they taste so bad. This even include six stars other non-isolate whey protein which comes in "vanilla cream" flavor. I actually like the slightly chalky vanilla flavor I recall in the old protein powders we'd get in the early 80's. This is reminisce of that flavor. I really like it. I do not think this protein is too sweet as other posters point out however it is more flavorful than most isolates so if you are looking for perfectly clean, nuthin but, protein, this might not be your choice.

You gotta try this stuff!! I've tried protein powder in the past and it always left a bad taste in my mouth, especially the raw organic stuff. I've been working out a lot lately, so I decided to give this product a try. I am absolutely overwhelmed with the great taste of this six star vanilla why isolate!! I literally look forward to drinking these shakes every day, and even crave them. They make me feel full and satisfied, which allows me to easily skip snack temptations between meals and eat more healthy meals and smaller portions. I simply put two scoops in a 16 oz mason jar with cold water, shake, and slurp it down with a wide glass straw. Delicious!!

One of the better protein to nutrient facts ratios. Amount of carbs and sugars are low for the flavor. It is sweet. The vanilla is great. We like this brand . For the price it is a good deal for isolate.

I use this product regularly as part of my morning smoothie mix. It mixes well and has a good flavour, and the balance of nutrients I want - particularly the protein. Careful if you are watching your cholesterol - read the label! In the right quantity, it enhances the flavour of the smoothie.My only issue: Amazon and Walmart had been selling this product for the same price for quite some time, but Amazon increased the price by $2, so I am now buying it at Walmart instead.

I purchased the whey isolate because it is pure protein. A full serving (two scoops) is 58 grams of protein. I have enjoyed it because it is a soft powder compared to regular drinks and mixes very easily. The smell isn't the best but once you start drinking you'll be satisfied. I never got the same bloated feeling that I do with other drinks, including Muscle Milk. It is a simple powder that performs. Did I notice an increase in strength or muscle size? It seems to be the same as others. I have to continue use and will update my review in the future. In short, I will buy from Six Star again because it is a great product.

Tastes great came in fresh with a year shelf life . Tub came in nice and clean . Best tasteing whey I’ve ever had . It does not mix as well as I would like tho. I like chunky protein shakes and you will chew this protein .
