Heavy Duty Deck Hook with Clamp

Excellent balcony accessories! Bought these to use on my apartment balcony and they’re perfect for my needs. My balcony is in an alley, on the top floor, in a city that regularly gets high winds advisories from the national weather service, so it’s crucial that anything I attach is truly solid and secure. I was anxious to observe them during big gusts (strong enough to occasionally blow the screen open on my sliding glass door) but these are rock solid. I’ve been using this to hold a bird feeder that is 3-5 pounds (plus birds) and it has worked beautifully. It is extremely secure and has not budged since I installed it. Even with a few fat city pigeons and gusty wind, it continues to hold strong. I think that it’s likely that the paint/finish is at least slight damaged where the base attaches on the underside of the handrail, which is expected, but the piece of metal that rests on top of the handrail is long enough to cover the top and ensure no damage on the visible area of the handrail. Overall, this is exactly what I wanted — high weight capacity + extremely sturdy, and it looks as nice as any other balcony hook. Now I can watch birds from my bed AND I don’t have to worry about potentially dropping a loaded birdfeeder on some poor, unsuspecting soul.

I originally bought a set of these to l use on the railing on our apartment terrace. They were left behind during the move so I bought another pair for bird feeders on our deck. Good quality.

Length and assembly.

These are sturdier than I expected! I’m using them to hang reflective items to scare off the birds so I didn’t need a strong hanger. These were cheaper than many others. When I unboxed them I was surprised at how sturdy they are! I’m not complaining! The part that screws to secure it to the fence 2x4 where I’m placing it is wider and flatter than some I have used before. Those bit into the wood after a while and weakened the post. I am thinking these won’t. I applied a little oil to all the threads to prevent corrosion for ease of unscrewing in the future if I need to move them. I also like that they are slanted so you can angle them inward or outward.
