Dogit Replacement Foam Insert for Fresh & Clear Drinking Water Fountain for Large Dogs, 2-Pack

Call me crazy but I honestly thought the foam piece that came with the fountain was a packaging thing! I read the directions, but apparently skipped that page or something (LOL!) and it wasn't until I had to order filter refills that I saw these again and then realized my mistake. These foamy pieces extend the life of the carbon filters in the water fountain AND seriously cut down on the amount of pet hair that gets into the pump and filter- I can't imagine not using it! These last quite a long time as long as you're gentle with them when you clean them off, I think I've used the same one for about six months now and it looks as clean and nice as it did when I bought it. Not to sound gross but I have picked some nasty looking pet hair gobs off of it, thankful that they didn't get a chance to stick to the filter, pump or worse, stay in the water! Overall, this is, I think, a must for any DogIt owner who wants to preserve the longevity of their pet water fountain, you don't want a burnt out pump because of a hairy, gummed up filter!

I needed new foam inserts to use in the Dogit fountain I have for my cats... yes, I have a Dogit fountain for my cats. LOL This is a great set of replacement foam inserts. I recently moved and wanted to clean out the fountain and replace all of the filters and pads and things, so I ordered these. The price was right, shipping was great, but I freaked a little when I got it because the larger foam insert is folded in half (there is a long foam insert and a shorter one half the length of the long one) so I thought I forgot to buy the long foam replacement! But no, this included both foam inserts needed for the Dogit fountain to help filter water and keep the fountain clean.

Replaced the foam that came with the dog fountain I have had for approximately 6 months. Seems to be the same as the current one. Didn't really seem like I needed to replace, just replacing because I am replacing the filter. I rinse off the foam approximately once a week. The foam seems to stay in good condition. Works great with my dog fountain.

The filters are great! They can be washed and reused several times and they really extend the longevity of out dogit fountain. That being said, the description makes it sound like you get two full replacements per package, and that is not true. What you actually get is a single set of replacement filters. There are two filters, a large and a small, but you need BOTH to do a full filter replacement (the small one goes underneath the blue slide out part that holds the pump plug in place). It seemed a little misleading to say 2 pack. That being said, I have 3 dogs, one is a St. Berdard who slobbers A LOT!!!! He also seems to want to eat and drink at exactly the same time and is VERY furry. I get a lot of furry nasty funky slime in their water. I would have to clean out their water dishes about 4 times a day. If I were to do only 3 times, the slime is so thick it makes me gag. With the Dogit water system, I can give them water and a clean bowl and they water stays clean for a full three days before I have to clean and refill it. In my house, this is like a MIRACLE! My only bad part is that the replacement filters can get very expensive as I have to replace mine more than average due to the slime issue, and my Lab got ahold of the lid to the top of the dome and chewed it up. I have NO IDEA how she got it off because I barely can and I have THUMBS! Good Grief! Anyhow, now it is chewed and nearly impossible to get off and I worry that it is not clean enough. Also, I have some qualms with the pump. If it is lined up (and all the stars are aligned as well) the pump is wonderful and water just flows; however, if for ANY REASON, the pump is not perfectly lined up, you get anywhere from ZERO water flow (for which I have to unplug the unit for a few hours and when I plug it back in it works???) Or I spend 1/2 hour wiggling it to get it right place and I get a dribbling of water, enough to keep the top full. All in all, I would buy it again, but it has some flaws.

I really like this fountain for the dogs. I have 3 dogs and this fountain is great even with multiple dogs. The filter and foam replacement is reasonably priced and last long. You don't have to change it that often and the dogs still get fresh and clean water.

I have the DOG-IT water fountain and its been the best! the cats climb on the top and drink, the big dog drinks from the top, the little dog drinks from the sides that fountain down. This was the best water dispenser for our family of dogs I could have ever gotten. The replacement foam is perfect when you just need to replace it already. Love Dogit !

I've been using this dog waterer for about 6 to 9 months. I really like it, and my Great Danes do like it and they seem to drink more. So, it really does accomplish what we wanted. But re-filling this thing can be a chore! And cleaning it is not a fast and easy thing either. Maybe it is because we have Great Danes, but pieces of dog food that hide in the dog's lips find their way into the waterer and it has to be cleaned at least every other day. And the cartridges are not cheap to keep replacing all the time. This is not a one-time purchase....you have to keep buying the cartridges and the foam filters. Am I glad to have it? Yes. Do my dogs like it? Yes. Would I buy one again if this one stopped working? I might try another brand to see if it is easier. But is one is not easy, and it is an ongoing small drain on the pocketbook.

I love the dogit machine! My dogs love drinking out of it. We have 3 dogs and was skeptical to use the large one since my other two babies are 5 pound Chihuahuas but they drink from the fountain on the side perfectly. We just cleaned our fountain and put the replacement cartridges and I can't beleive how dirty the foam was it really does collect dirt and dog hair will never go back to a normal dog bowl

Love this product . To make your dogit fresh run perfectly so your best friend always has fresh water .remember to rinse the sponges and filter really well also read the instructions on cleaning the pump. ( even dog spit can clog the impeller )Be sure to do this monthly it's simple and keeps your product running smoothly .
