Company was responsive to issues.
The kayak hooks have survived 3 trips of 600 miles each, approximately 1800+ miles, without incident. Initially I was concerned about buying after market 'cheap' J-hooks, but they felt good and stable. Any other issues I've had are minor or just suggestions for future purchasers. I've transported 3 kayaks now between 8 to 10 feet in length and approximately 40-50 lbs.Minor issue: one of the lower J-hook sessions was not pre-drilled; the seller rectified the issue in a timely mannerSuggestion: the kit comes with non-slip nuts intended to hold the J-hooks and not rattle free while driving. However, it also comes with 'knobs' that don't seem to serve any purpose other than appearance sake and are the last parts you screw on. I would suggest that if someone buys this set of J-hooks they purchase an additional set of non-slip nuts as an extra precaution. You can find the appropriate non-slip nut based on the material list in the instruction manual.A note on non-slip nuts: non-slip nuts are designed to be installed once, if you install one and remove it, then you've defeated the purpose of the non-slip nut and you need to replace it. If you make an error during installation make sure you replace the non-slip nuts with new ones. The plastic in the non-slip nut is supposed to help 'grip' the threads of the bolts so they don't come loose, if used and replaced then the plastic is worn away which may not prevent it coming loose.

Cheap and easy to use!!
Work great and easy to set up and mount to my Thule Wingbar EVO. Holds my kayak well and the included straps keeps things very secure. I haven’t gone more than 40mph yet. I’d be a little worried going at highway speeds, but I don’t plan on doing that anytime soon.

You have to watch them closely
These rack are easy to install but you have to check them often as they will loosen. They are sturdy and good quality but keeping them tight is an issue

Does not secure well - dangerous
Update: The seller gave me a full refund, well outside the return period, which I am happy with. Customer service was great and responsive after my post below.I purchased this Fall 2022 and just used it for the first time a couple weeks ago. The nuts constantly came loose slowly while driving on the thruway, no matter how much I hand tightened them. In fact one of the plastic tighteners cracked when trying to tighten further.I kept pulling over while driving to tighten them again. I had a regular paddleboard and kayak on either side, both only weighing about 50 pounds each. After 90 minutes of driving home from vacation, one j-rack had its nuts loosen so much that it apparently wiggled around, causing overload on the rack with the wind and weight while thruway driving, and then one j-rack completely bent over, slamming my paddleboard down to the outside edge of my roof (2018 Ford Explorer). The other j-rack on the same side bent slightly. You can see the evidence on the attached picture. This should NOT happen. I tightened them as much as I could, and had the straps securely tightened (not just around the j-racks, but around the roof rack bars also, which is probably the only thing that stopped the board from flying off my car while driving and causing serious damage to a nearby car on the thruway).I did NOT buy the protection plan, but I really ought to get my money back, and will petition the company with the same message. If you're wondering, I still have the board.....I left it in the grass on the thruway, went home to unload the kayak, and then came back to load the paddleboard up on the j-rack side that did not break (I used on a wrench on that side to tighten the nuts further to make sure they wouldn't come loose).

Some handy work needed **updated**
***UPDATE***After I modified the pre-drilled holes, I assembled the racks and attempted to test fit on my HF Haulmaster ladder rack. The mounting bolts were not long enough to mount the bracket to the ladder rack rails. I couldn't find a metric bolt with the same pitch that was long enough, so I bought a package of 5/16in-18 x 4 inch carriage bolts, 5/16in vinyl insert hex head locking nuts and 5/16in rubber end caps. (I could have gone with a 3 inch bolt, but I practice the mantra better to be too long than too short.) I was able to mount the racks and they feel solid. I test fit one kayak then measured 21 inches from the end of the rail to mark where I was going to mount the inside kayak rack. That worked out fine. After I installed the rubber end caps onto the end of the bolt, I noticed that the caps tended to slip off easily. Knowing that road travel will end up having these shake loose, I used HF heat shrink tubing on the ends and after shrinking the tubing to the bolt, the end cap fit snuggly. All in all, even after the modifications (which weren't that hard to do), these racks seem solid. If all goes well on my trip, I'll move the product rating up one star (to a 4 star rating).I bought two sets of these to haul four kayaks. Most of them were easy to put together, but two had holes that didn't line up exactly. I ended up using my round file to elongate the hole. After multiple test fits, I finally was able to get the last two assembled. I haven't installed them on my ladder rack, but I don't see any reason that they shouldn't work as advertised. I gave three stars for the quality control.

Finally, a well made product from offshore.
A sturdy quality made rack and an excellent value to boot.
