I colored my hair red for over 30 years, but wanted to move to a more natural healthier way of covering gray. I get more compliments now than I ever did with chemical colors and the red actually stays and does not fade… Ever! It’s a miracle.. I do mix it with cool temperature decaf organic coffee as one buyer suggested and then let it sit for at least three hours to mix and then at least three hours on my hair.. no chemical smell , washes out easily… Do follow the manufacturers advice that it does bleed a little for a while so avoid white clothing for about a week, but any white towels that it has bled on easily come out white again after a regular wash. Highly suggested and pray this product never goes away!
Review: Beautiful: Deep Red - I am a performer, I am 44 years old, and have salt and pepper hair. A few years back, I noticed that most hair dies, even though they state that they cover gray hair, would not cover gray hair completely. I started to do a lot of research on the health benefits of switching to Henna. Most, Henna products have salt in them, which, if you have processed your hair prior, can cause your hair to break off. The Henna guys does not have the salt in their henna! I have a very dear friend that turned me onto this particular company. They have a lot of integrity, and the colors are so beautiful. I had been bleaching my own hair and dying at different colors. Mainly Pravana, and also semi permanent vegan dyes. I am a Tour Guide in New Orleans, and it gets quite hot here and tend to sweat a lot during the summer time, especially. One day I noticed, as I took witch hazel and wipe my chest, the cotton pad was black. I started to do research on the effects of chemical dyes, and how it is absorbed into your body, what I found is there are some cancer causing affects. Your skin is one of the biggest organs, I wanted to improve my mental health as well, as I am perimenopausal and figure that the absorption of these chemicals is probably affecting things that I don’t realize. Henna dye, darkens overtime, so I was quite worried to commit to this. I have long straight hair that almost touches my lower back for the first application, I used hibiscus tea that I brewed, put the deep red powder in a glass bowl. You do not want to use any kind of metal bowl slowly mixed the hibiscus tea in and stirred the Henna, so that there were no clumps and a cookie dough kind of texture. I also used Bravani powder. Adding in a quarter of the packet, this is something that you can add to the Henna that helps with strengthening the hair, etc. You can go on the henna guys.com and see the options that they have. I also used a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, then I let the Henna sit for eight hours, and set an alarm on my phone. I used three packets which was way too much, but wanted to make sure I had enough. After eight hours I mixed it again. Then I took a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and mixed it in, as the reviews stated it would help with gray coverage. I also made sure that I had a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. I used a regular hair, dyeing, brush, gloves, and had a plastic cap nearby, the easiest way to do this with long hair, you section your hair off and four different sections and clipped the ones back that you were not using. You can use your hands, but I found it much easier to use a dye brush. I don’t know what people are so fussy about, I was reading reviews, and they said that it was super messy, however, I didn’t have any issues. Keep in mind I’ve been dying my hair for many many years. I did put a cape on over my clothes and made sure I wasn’t wearing anything that I would care about getting Henna on. If you get henna on your hands or body, it’s actually not as bad to get it off like people say. Use lemon juice and baking soda. Mix it into a paste and let it sit on your skin where you accidentally died, and after a couple minutes, just scrub it off with a washcloth, off and no problem Depending on the length of your hair, will determine how long you need to wait until you apply it. Once you apply the henna, you have to let it sit on your head for three hours and cover it. It is a clay, so your hair will feel heavy. Honestly, I just twisted my hair up into four buns and put a cap on basically just did some house work after three hours, I went into the shower to rinse it off. It is extremely important that when you rinse it off it is cold water. Also, it’s a good idea to rinse off the top of the cap before you pull it off. If you have long hair, you’re definitely one gonna wanna lean your head back and keep it back, the first time I did this I didn’t do this, and the water that dripped down my face had had a die coming down, so I did actually need to scrub my face after this happened. I would highly suggest a mirror on the side of your shower you can also start with warm water at first to acclimate your body, and then rinse it out if your hair. I would definitely suggest putting a leave in conditioner that is super hydrating that sulfate free, a.k.a. maybe a coconut or jojoba hair mask. Put it in your hair and leave it on as long as you can after the first application, then go in and rinse it off with cold water. A lot of people don’t realize that if you have been processing your hair for sometime, it takes your hair a while to adjust. Literally, the henna will coat your hair, follicle and help heal your hair, but it takes time. My hair felt dry and brittle the first time, the second time was better, and the third time, I finally feel like my hair has adjusted and it’s soft and silky. Honestly, after I first did my hair, it was very soft due to the oils I put in my hair. Just know if you do decide to take a warm shower, to actually seal the henna dye into your hair, you do need to use cold water the more you wash your hair with warm water, the quicker it will rinse out. This may sound like a very long process, but I’m telling you, it is well well worth it. **Q: My hair is a reddish brown I was told the mixture to dark brown/black will make it a weird blue green color, is this true?**
A: Mine is reddish brown, and I've never had it look green. The mixture will look green and blue, but the hair will not

**Q: Once applied, how long does it take to color hair? I don't wish to leave on over night as I have read in the comments.**
A: I mix mine wait a bit until the lumps go away then leave on for four hours. Leaving it on my hair overnight irritated my scalp.

**Q: Will i get bright orange like in the picture? i tried hannah naturals hennah and it dried the crap out of my hair. will this one?**
A: Henna doesn't dry out your hair. It depends on how you prepare it and the ingredients you ADD to the mix. Lemon is very drying, so don't use it. Chamomile tea or cranberry juice (diluted 50/50 w/h2o) are plenty acidic for dye release and they don't dry your hair. Henna takes awhile to remove from your hair. 3 minutes of rinsing is simply not enough. 10-25 minutes is necessary depending on how thick/long your hair is. After you MUST shampoo and condition to remove residue or your hair will FEEL dry. This will NOT effect the color. Note: it will not actually be dry, it will just feel that way because there is still henna powder in your hair. A lot of people know absolutely nothing about henna and try it once, screw it up and then blame the product. You MUST do your research or be prepared for unreliable results. I suggest longhaircommunity.com and hennaforhair.com as places to start for quality, reliable information.

**Q: Is the one step where I mix both packages together? Or is one step where I first do the 50g pure henna and then do the100g henna plus indigo? Help!**
A: Hi,One step process is to mix some % of pure henna with dark brown and apply it in one Go. 2 step process is to use pure henna first, rinse it out & then do another application with dark brown henna which is a recommended process for maximum coverage.Thank you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely STUNNING color!

Love, love, LOVE the Henna Guys Deep Red Henna. Like a gorgeous red-headed vixen! I wasn’t positive how this would turn out since I have light brown hair. I am absolutely thrilled with the stunning results. My hair is shiny like a mirror & silky soft. A beautiful deep red color indoors & a bright & stunning rich red color outdoors. Just like the package shows! I ended up accidentally soaking the henna for a 24 hour period since I put the mixture together late in the AM around 9 & didn’t have the energy to apply it at 9 pm & leave it on my hair for 3 hours. I added the Apple Cider Vinegar just prior to applying since I have about ten strands of gray near my temples. The henna sat in the bowl for about 23 hours before application. I mixed everything together and added the black coffee as needed along the way to add more moisture & kept the bowl inside a 1 gallon ziploc bag so it wouldn’t dry out. The next day I laid out a bunch of towels I didn’t mind getting stained up & went to work. (I used my own disposable gloves since they work better than what arrived in the henna package.) My hair is below my bra strap, about half way down mg back & 1 package did my entire head of hair. (I purchased a two pack since I thought I might need more dye.) The henna actually didn’t dye my skin in areas it ended up touching like I thought. I did put petroleum jelly around my ears, forehead, neck etc where I thought dye might come into contact. Pieces of the henna covered hair kept coming out of the dye cap and touching lower parts of my face I hadn’t covered with jelly. No staining at all. I even got a bit on my lower arms that I washed off quite quickly, no staining. The couple of spots of henna that landed in places I couldn’t easily wash off didn’t stay stained for longer than one shower. I will continue buying from the Henna guys. Their Deep Red Henna is absolutely stunning & I get a lot of compliments on it. I’ve even been asked which salon I go to to get such a beautiful dye job. People are shocked when I say it’s a bag of Henna for less than $15. No harsh chemicals, or ingredients that destroy hair. This Henna actually softens the hair up quite a bit. Absolutely worth the purchase! The dye job lasts about 3 weeks with every other day washing of hair. I skipped shampooing my hair for the first three days & just rinsed with cold water. I have since washed my hair like normal in normal temperature shower water. I imagine the dye would last longer than 3 weeks if cold/cool water is used, but I like my showers warm. Overall an incredible product for a cheap amount of $! Yes, the application process is long, but the results are phenomenal! ETA: It’s now a month and a week after application and my hair is still beautiful red! I wash my hair every 2-3 days with sulfate free shampoo and the color is still beautiful. It has faded a bit so I will redye soon, but it’s actually lasting much longer than I originally thought. Still shiny & slippery soft, too! 10/10 absolutely recommend Deep Red Henna by The Henna Guys! ETA #2: Many months later and this is still my favorite Henna product ever. I get compliments even long after I’m due to redye my hair. My hair is shiny, thick and healthier than it’s ever been. I’m never going back to standard hair dye. This is a total game changer for me!
