Wow! Every child should be learning music!
This book is one of the most comprehensive books on the impact and benefits of music and music education on the brain. As a parent, I was particularly amazed at just how important music is on the child's brain and has already changed the way I parent my children and encourage music. Whether you are a parent, teacher, administrator, community leader, policy maker, musician - whatever the case - there is something in this book for you, as it will forever change the way you view music and how fundamentally important it is for us in reaching our fullest and happiest potentials.

My wife love's it. If you teach music or sell musical products READ THIS!
One of the things that is missing in most families is learning to play a musical instrument or to sing. For years the music products industry has been trying to get the point across the importance of music in a Child's development is so important and has a lot of positive effect. We here in the US don't place any value on this and it's one of the reasons why so many European and Asian countries are turning out really high-level performing musicians. If you take the time and talk to doctors, lawyers, other highly skilled professionals, and even some pro athletes, you might be surprised to find that MANY play piano or some musical instrument. Learning to play a musical instrument has been proven to help in brain development in areas of brain focus, eye-hand skills as well as discipline. However, it's important for PARENTS to know they need to be involved. Just because Dad's into sports only doesn't mean he shouldn't be involved in the music learning proceess. And for God's sake don't buy a cheap keyboard at the big box store or some old crapy piano on Craig's List or OfferUp if you want your child to learn to play piano or keyborad. Find a teacher or go to a real Piano Store and get a teacher recommendation.

Great book, with loads of information and well presented
I was impressed with the wealth of research, knowledge and the way it is presented for non-researchers but people interested in education. A must read for any Music Teacher or Educator

Inspiring
Bought this book after watching and listening to the author on a Zoom presentation at a conference for instrumental and vocal teachers in Glasgow a few weeks ago. She was inspirational in her remarks and reminded me of exactly why I wanted to be a musician and pass on as much of whatever knowledge and experience I have as a brass player to young people. Don't hesitate, buy this book.
