This blender has a smoothie function that makes excellent smoothies. It also does a good job at crushing ice. There are two things about this blender that could be better. The first is how to turn on the blender and select a function or speed. There are no actual buttons, only icons on a touchscreen. After many tries, I discovered that you have to place your full finger pad on the icon to select it. Using only your fingertip will not work. Also, you need to press the icon briefly. The blender will not work if you keep your finger on the icon. To make it more confusing, you need to first select the power icon to put it into standby mode and then select a function. If you do not select a function in a certain amount of time, the blender times out of standby mode and you need to press the power button again.The second thing that could be better is the assembly and disassembly of the bottom section of the blender where the blade is. You need to use your finger to place and remove the gasket at the bottom of the blade while the back of your finger is very close to the sharp blades.

I gave "easy to clean" a one star, not because the blender itself is hard to clean, but because it sends liquid onto the wall and floor and THAT is hard to clean!The touch controls on this unit are VERY hard to use and VERY finicky. Sometimes they work and sometimes they do not. This blender can drive you NUTS.Also, the rubber ring is difficult to place in the correct position, and your fingers wind up next to sharp blades while you are doing it.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR: keep away from this blender, and pick a different one. You have been warned.Also, the guarantee is not worth a dime. A 3 year Satisfaction Guarantee is advertised, but when you look at the actual guarantee it is far different. I am definitely NOT SATISFIED with this blender, and I bought it just nine months ago, so I should be able to get coverage from their 3-year Satisfaction Guarantee. I can't get no satisfaction, as the Rolling Stones said in their famous song! Not from Amazon, and not from Oster.When you try to look up the guarantee on the Oster website, you cannot even find this product listed. They must be ashamed of it, as they should be.

Great! Definitely worth it to get.

While the unit works as a basic blender, it has some drawbacks. The touch buttons are not easy to use as they are not very responsive to the touch. It take a few tries to engage any of the blending modes, then it takes a few tries to stop the motor. I found out that food can get inside the screw-on base, so to clean it you have to take the jar/container apart. You'd need to be careful as the blades are very sharp.

We use for smoothies about 99% of the time. No problems and the motor is strong. Nice touch is the glass container, not plastic.
