The S640 is a wonderful product for beginners and artists on the go!
Hello Folks! I’m Chris, I’m a professional artist, and my tablet is more-or-less my life. Keep drawing, keep getting money, keep buying groceries. Take it from me when I say that recommending tablets is an important thing… and I gotta say: I definitely recommend the S640 for either those beginner artists in your life, or for inclusion with a mobile setup. The S640 was a wonderful little peripheral. It is very light and very compact, so it is wonderful for throwing in a bag and running off wherever you may want to go. As a life-long Wacom user, I am incredibly adverse to the woes of a battery-powered pen. I find them heavy and clunky, and they become incredibly annoying when the battery gets to its low end. To that effect, I was incredibly pleased to find that Veikk’s products use a battery-less pen. No fussing with a battery is always a win, and it is even more so, considering how sensitive the pressure function is and how reactive it is as a mouse. If price is a factor, Veikk has made a very cost effective product. The S640 is roughly $30 USD, and after a little research, I found the closest Wacom product (the Wacom One) is around $60 USD. On top of its highly competitive price, the S640 also comes packaged with several replacement nibs for the stylus and a couple different adapters so that you can connect it through some non standard ports. I punished this product, trying to see what issues I could find with it. While I would love to say this product is without faults, I will say that everytime I ran into an issue with it, the people at Veikk were very willing to help me solve them. I absolutely was way meaner to this machine and its driver than they likely intended, and throughout the process of me trying to find problems with this product, the staff at Veikk was very quick to help me out and find solutions to problems that I could not! I will say since this is a relatively unknown brand, it may be a bit difficult to find tutorials on fixing issues online. The main issues that I really can point out (that are not immediately fixable by their support staff) are to do with the build of the device. The construction of the device does feel a little flimsy. It is very thin, and has a particular point that I was worried about as I wiggled it around trying to see if I could break it; but I am pleased to report that I did not break it, and wouldn’t expect it to break under any reasonable day-to-day stresses. The nibs admittedly are a little bit noisy as well when you first trade them out, but after a few minutes of doodling the ends smooth out a little, and it's back to peacefully working. TLDR; ------PROS------ Stylus does not require batteries. Fantastic feature. Pressure sensitivity is very reactive. Very good price point. Wacom’s closest competitive tablet is the One, with similar dimensions and costs around $60USD Box comes with several replacement pen nibs included, as well as adapters for other, non-usb connectors. Veikk staff have been very willing to work with me as I test their drivers, even though that is not technically what they asked me to do. :D ------CONS------ Relatively unknown brand. Not a lot of troubleshooting for this brand exists on the internet. Construction of the tablet seems flimsy. You can see raw silicon(?) on the sides of the tablet body; but I have not had any sort of breaking or cracking. First few minutes of use, the pen nibs are very noisy; but after a few minutes of doodling, they tone down. The long and short of it is that the S640 is a good product. It's small, it's light, it’s cost effective, it doesn't need extra batteries, and when I ran into problems Veikk’s staff was quick to help me out. I am so confident in this device, that I am highly considering their VK1560 for when my old Cintiq 13HD finally kicks the bucket, now knowing the quality of their products.

Ultra-light and portable... Great choice for OSU players or drawing tablet beginners!
Getting right into it, the S640 is advertised primarily as an OSU! Tablet, so with that in mind I’m grading this as such. With other tablets that I have reviewed in the past, I take a good look at portability since I normally have to work or play on the go. The S640 is by far the smallest and most portable tablet I have reviewed by VEIKK thus far. This one is sleek, lightweight and compact which makes it EXTREMELY easy to slip this in your bag for on-the-go OSU action. The active drawing area is quite small but this helps to jump rapidly between notes as you play OSU since a smaller tablet means there’s less distance for your hand/arm to travel to hit notes. On the flip side, the small active area makes it a little less comfortable to use this as your mainstay drawing tablet for illustrations that require precise strokes because your hand is confined to the smaller area. Regarding durability, I have accidentally dropped this on a kitchen tile floor and the S640 survived. I’m not comfortable pushing my luck with an ultra-thin drawing tablet like this, but at least it’s durable enough to survive a handful of clumsy accidents. With appearances, the tablet sports a matte black body with a glossy black strip on the thick part --which is fine, but I always prefer having color choices. The dark color really works against you when working in the dark and the small size and lack of persistent lights makes it a little difficult to find in a dark room. For those that are concerned, the S640’s pressure sensitivity is on par with any other current tablet brands. Regarding software, I’ve tested this with OSU, Clip Studio Paint and very briefly with Zbrush with no percievable problems, though if you are used to a tablet with hotkeys, this will feel weird. I don’t have any issues with responsiveness, which is great. There’s no hotkeys or a gesture touch area like the A15 and A30 tablet models but on a small tablet like this, those features would actually get in the way. This product doesn’t need hotkeys considering that most tablet OSU players use the keyboard to alternate pressing keys instead of using tablet hotkeys. PROS --------------- +S640's drawing surface is very smooth when drawing on it. +No batteries needed for the tablet pen. +Super lightweight and portable. +An inexpensive choice for OSU enthusiasts or beginners new to graphics tablets. +Tablet design is very streamlined. +The driver has options to accommodate both left and right-handed users. CONS --------------- -It becomes easy to lose the pen without the pen sleeve. -Easy to lose track of the tablet in the dark due to the lack of persistent lights on the tablet and small profile. -The pen feels a little light for someone with heavy hands. -It's VERY thin so naturally I'm afraid of putting it in a bag with heavy books or objects. -Because of the small size, it’s hard to use it for drawing for long periods of time without cramping your hand. -The tablet software isn't as polished as other interfaces. CONCLUSION --------------- Even though you can use the S640 this for illustration and painting, it’s definitely feels like it is designed to be used for playing OSU. I can only recommend this for absolute drawing tablet beginners or people that want a functional OSU tablet with a very small desk footprint. Even though the tablet only comes in black, I’ve seen people make custom sleeves or covers for these, which is comforting for those that love customization. Like any tablet, installation can be frustrating but following the provided instructions should solve any problems you may have. For a small and portable tablet for OSU! it really can’t be beat. But if you are looking for a tablet more suited to drawing long term, I would actually recommend the VEIKK A15 or A30 due to the hotkeys and larger drawing size. All in all, I can’t find any serious faults in the S640 worth docking a star for.

Great little scratch pad
Hey this thing's pretty good it's a stupendous value for the money, there's no noticeable lag it's plug and play with both my Android phone and my Windows PC. I mean the pressure sensitivity is there the more could you ask for 20 bucks it is a great first drawing pad to see if you want to dive off the deep end and even if you do end up buying something else more expensive you can keep this one in the car since it plugs into your phone.

Portable and Affordable Little Tablet
I recently purchased this tablet and have used it for some time now. It is super compact and portable and is perfect for my needs. I have been using the S640 to write notes for schoolwork, OSU! but I have also used it to draw and have found it perfect for beginners getting into drawing (like myself) As someone who always forgets to buy batteries, the battery-less pen is the most notable and impressive feature to me. It is extremely responsive and glides smoothly across the surface and makes for an amazing writing experience. The tablet itself is extremely thin which was a concern of mine in the beginning, but it is extremely well built and has been fine when I travel. The software is super clean and easy to understand and use. I have remapped buttons on the tablet and pen which has made my typing and drawing experience super sleek and organized. This tablet is primarily advertised as an OSU! table and that was the primary reason why I purchased this product. The tablet has virtually no input lag which is amazing when you get into intense moments on the game. The tablet also included replacement nobs for the pen which is perfect since this is marketed towards OSU! players. Overall, this tablet is amazing and has amazing value. If you are on the fence about buying a tablet for drawing, writing notes, or playing OSU! This is an amazing and affordable option for newcomers to the tablet scene.

Beginner tablet
This is a beginner tablet, however iv'e had a couple beginner tablets before and this tablet for a beginner is easy to plug in and go but difficult to use to draw with. I noticed you have to zoom in a lot and it's a bit wobbly for drawing. In set up it's very simple but there is the sensitivity part that they don't explain and i find that would be confusing for some. If you can handle small sure, but i'm gonna be honest the only thing i really enjoyed about this is the pen, the pen for a cheap tablet is one of the best pens iv'e seen. But altogether this thing is hard to get used to the constant zooming to draw is distracting and the wobble is a bit hard to work with. The size doesn't bother me but i can see how it could for many people. I'm often to nice on reviews and i wan't to be honest here if your new and want something for a couple of months while you save go ahead. But even for a beginner i'd probably grab yourself a tablet of bigger size i think for what this is it's fair, but the size makes things really complex and starting out you shouldn't have struggle to learn.

A perfect tablet for Osu! at just the right price
The S640 Osu! Tablet by VEIKK is truly made for Osu! as it comes with all the essentials needed for a quality tablet. Whether using this tablet for osu!, art design, or general use, the movements have very little delay and are great for being accurate and responsive. One key factor that makes this tablet so good is that it doesn't require any drivers to be used. As soon as it's plugged into a computer, the drivers automatically install and the tablet is able to be used right away with no latency issues. The tablet comes with eight extra pen nibs, a pen nib removal tool, a felt sleeve for storing your pen, an instruction manual, and a guide for installing drivers. The tablet feels premium and has a smooth plastic feel to it that makes it easy to glide your wrist -- as well as the pen -- on. The four rubber feet on the back side aren't just one dot of rubber like some other tablets; it outlines the corners of the tablet with about a quarter inch of rubber that prevents slipping on even the smoothest surfaces like a mouse pad. The pen has a nice smooth plastic feel to it and doesn't require any extra batteries, making it lightweight and easy to hold. It is cylindrical in shape and has two buttons that make up for the tablet not having any itself. The buttons have a nice tactile feel to them and are separated so there won't be any problems accidentally pressing one when meaning to press the other. The software downloaded from VEIKK's website is simple and easy to install. You can customize your screen region, active area region, and set custom keystrokes for the two buttons on the pen. As stated before, the pen can still work perfectly even without installing the software due to the pre-loaded drivers. VEIKK produced a great tablet and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an affordable and well-built tablet as well as osu! players who want to try out the tablet gameplay style. VEIKK's customer support is amazing and they are very friendly. They reply quickly and take care of any issues that customers might have. They are professional and understand what a good company is supposed to look like.

Pretty nice tablet for the price
This is a nice entry tablet. It worked fine for what it was supposed to do. The wheels are easy to use, and it's easy to assign functions to the wheels and buttons. I did not like the amount of pressure needed for the buttons (a lot) or how loud they clicked, but that might not bother you. Also, the driver seems to run as normal software, and that means you can't use it at all when running at admin level (e.g., when installing software), and it will freeze up when other software freezes. It ends up being as laggy as whatever other software you're running. If you use it only for graphics, only in a graphics app, that might not be an issue, but personally I use it as a mouse replacement so this is a problem. Ultimately, I switched to an XP-Pen Deco Pro. The XP-Pen is twice the price, but has an even nicer wheel, a better pen feel, and does not have the lag or admin issues. If you have a little more to spend, I would give it a look instead.

A lot better than expected for it's size
Drawing tablet for Mac/Chromebook/windows/android This is a fab little drawing tablet and better than I thought it would be for it's little size. This is roughly 16cm x 10cm x 0.5cm, with a drawing area of 10cm x 8cm and 4 shortcut key buttons. These buttons as well as the pen, allow you to customise the drawing tablet to suit you and your style, you can even set it to left or right handed too. It feels well made, sturdy and durable. You have a 155cm USB cable to power it with, this will not work with an extender USB, you need to plug it in directly if you're using a Pc. You can use it with laptops, tablets and your phone too, the phone needs a USB adapter. You have the drawing tablet pen, which has two buttons on, this is roughly 15cm long, this comes with 8 replacement nibs, a nib remover tool and it doesn't need batteries to work, so that's good. The set up is really easy, you need to download the software, which is quick to install and simple to follow. Once you've installed this you have a little app as such, to customise the drawing tablet. In the app you can change the button functions on the pen, you have many options for what you want this to do, I kept one as an eraser, as it's easy to remove small areas. You can change the pressure and sensitivity you want it to have, to suit your own drawing style. You can customise the shortcut keys, I kept one as an 'undo' button, which makes it really easy to erase larger parts you want rid of. Also I kept two as zoom in and out, which helps draw in those tiny areas when necessary. You can map your work area, so you can set it to use all or part of the drawing area, set it to size scale with your screen, use right handed or left handed style and a few more. Using the tablet itself is fantastic. Whilst you're hovering over the tablet, you can see on screen where you are exactly, it won't start drawing until you put that pen to it. It won't pick up your hand leaning on it or anything like that. Drawing away is easily done. You can use other areas of the monitor screen with your pen, so you can change colours, pen line widths, open new pages etc with the pen itself. I would recommend this. I think it's brilliant for a starter drawing tablet, definitely better than I expected it to be. Good quality, works well and easy to use.
