Quality Product
I had read the reviews on the difficulty of assembly, but I experienced the complete opposite. Instructions were simple. All the pieces fit together well and it did t take me long at all. I had prepared for the worse it it was a piece of cake. And it didn’t smell like everyone was saying. My only complaint was that the wooden wheel spun crooked and I had to take a wood rasp to allow it to spin freely.

Penthouse for a hamster
Love this cage!!! Assembly is kinda tricky but I was doing it alone so it could be user error..the smell of pine is strong hoping it's ok..I will have to add a top latch for roof as it only came with one..my hamster loves her new home, it's massive for her!..the wheel it comes with it to tight to turn well so some adjustments need to be made to that as well.. other than those minor things this cage is great!! Definitely recommend.. I will come back at a later date to update but so far so good

Not the best cage out there
Ok… there are a list of pros and cons for this cage if your looking for a hamster cage. However the list of good things is very small. Some good things are that it’s a very big cage, hamsters need a lot of room to run and this cage has a lot of space. This cage is also a good wood it’s sturdy and the mesh screen is thick enough that the hamster can’t chew through it. However there are numerous bad things about this cage, first the smell! The wood has a really strong smell that is overwhelming. Also the cage is hard to assemble, the instructions are not clear enough and left me confused on what piece is what. My package came missing screws C which is essential to hold the stairs to get to the next level of the cage. The running wheel for the hamster does not work because it’s a screw meaning the wheel won’t turn without a bearing. The top mesh lid came warped allowing easy access for the hamster to escape and has no latch to ensure the hamster staying in. I had to assemble the top mesh lid incorrectly for it to stay somewhat closed as shown in the picture it’s still somewhat warped but I’m going to get latches to close it. Overall yes this is a good sized hamster cage but there are better cages out there for a hamster!

Good cage, healthy space and value for $
We got this cage for my daughter's . It's been qthe best cage for a Syrian hamster since they're quite a bit bigger And she has really enjoyed it. She's able to borrow in bedding on the bottom level and come up above the top level for some relaxation and to eat her food. The see through sides make her visible most times, and helps to promote socializing with her humans as well. One con, one of the lids doesn't latch so you may need to improvise there, but other than that it was pretty satisfactorily built and assembled. It comes with unclear and with semi confusing instructions so keep it in mind if you've never built something with drills and screws by instructions before- because it doe s require some prior experience, imo.

Did not assemble. Smell overwhelming
Not recommended for people with lung conditions. I could barely breathe from the moment I opened the box. It got worse as I emptied the box.

My fears are being realized
**Update** 3/14/24Still no help from customer service. If you want a cage that will last a few months before being destroyed by a small rodent, go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere.I got this for my daughter for Christmas. I had reservations with getting an all wooden cage for a rodent. And I was right to have them. The cage is sturdy and built well. It is made of a softer wood, which is fine. It comes with some nice accessories as well. However, the plastic film on the sides can not be completely removed because it was preassembled with it on. Pieces of plastic film get stuck between the wood and the plastic sheeting. The bottom of the cage is open, exposing boards at the bottom that are part of the tray. This is like a homing beacon for rodents. It was the first thing he starting chewing on. Even with plenty of other wooden toys in there, he loves making his way around the tray chewing pieces off.The wood also poses a problem as it absorbs urine. Rodent urine smells. And the softer wood absorbs his urine very well. It is just a matter of time before that becomes a huge issue. The whole second story has become his personal pee pad.As much as I was hoping this would work, it is going to be an expensive cage that will end up being thrown away once the smell of urine, or the chewing, reach its limits. Stick to plastic cages.
