Evaluation of a sit to stand transporter.
This machine was a life saver for my husband who was sent home from the hospital not being able to walk or stand on his own. I was the only person here to take care of him, and this gave me the ability to do that. It was a great devise to get him to the bathroom, or put him in his wheelchair, or transport him to the car. This was well worth every dollar I paid for it.My husband was a very large man, 6’5” and 275 lbs and this machine handled him very easily. It was well made and very durable, we used it for about a year with only one issue, a wheel lost its ability to spin freely, and was replaced right way by the manufacture.

Good investment and good price
I have seen several negative reviews on this product. I've had it for 2 days. It has been a game changer. Has been a lot easier to move my mother into the bathroom and her bedroom since I got this. As far as I'm concerned it has been is a great investment. My only downside has been. We can't get it under the lift chair. But we figured that out. Good product. Glad I got it. My mom is glad as well

A great help relearning to stand
Vive Transport Stand AssistMOB1043My wife loved a Sara Stedy in rehab to help her relearn to stand, but back home we were looking for something more affordable and chose the Vive. After first use I give it 4 of 5 stars, because despite a couple flaws that I’ll get to, she loved it, was able to stand with support, and was able to shift weight and flex standing muscles again.PT, myself, and home aide were present. At least two people to assist was essential because of the need to assist standing and operating the butt flaps on both sides.PT and I demonstrated usage first so that my wife could see how it works. At first we practiced standing and sitting in the Vive, without using the flaps. Before attempting the flaps, we discussed how my wife would need to take weight off the flaps by standing so that we could flip them up.Then she stood and we engaged the flaps. She could rest back against the flaps and partly bear and shift weight. She loved this! Afterward she concluded she wants to practice in the machine every day. Yay!Now for the flaws.Although it is a rough surface, the foot plate is slippery. My wife’s foot kept slipping when she tried to stand. This unnerved her. However, PT emphasized pressing weight through the heels and we pressed on.At first standing resting against the flaps was great. She was shifting weight and decided to stay there for a while, enjoying the exercise. But then my wife’s knee started to buckle under the partial weight of her body. She felt she was falling and urgently needed to sit. She could not stand and her weight prevented us from releasing and flipping up the flaps. I got the left flap up, but the right flap’s locking pin was stuck and its pull ring bent out of shape. Fortunately the shin pads held her up, but somehow her foot got under the foot plate and she felt pain. Once she realized the shin pads were holding, she shifted weight, we got the right pad up, and she sat down.We learned the following lessons.1. Even if it seems to be going great, don’t lean too long exercising with the flaps. Stop, stand, flaps up, sit, before exhaustion sets in.2. The shin pads with flaps will hold and you will not fall. So if exhaustion hits and knee starts to buckle, don’t panic. Just rest on shins and pads for a bit until strength comes back.3. Don’t pull too hard on the locking pin pull ring. Instead, weight shift off the pad, then pull gently. It will release easily and then you can flip up the pad.Relearning to walk is no joke. The Vive is sturdy and can really help, and I hope this review will help you avoid our initial pitfalls.

Well made, easy to use.
This unit has been a life saver. My wife has recently been suffering from leg weakness. she cannot stand for more that 30 seconds before she starts to collapse. Several times she sags down to the floor and I can't lift her up again. Several calls to the Fire Dept for assistance. This unit has worked wonderfully. I'm able to assist her when she stands, then I rotate the two clam shell like seats behind her and she is safe and secure. I can then wheel her to the bathroom, bedroom, etc. Great device and great price. Additional info. The base legs with the caster are fixed, however they are wide enough to fit around the base of a toilet. They are narrow enough to fit under a wheelchair.

Sarahsteady that is truly a great tool.
My spouse requires around the clock care and I was worried about how to care for a paralyzed individual and get around our tiny home. This tool does the trick. One thing they could do though is make the release on the seat easier to work, other than that I have no issues. Easy to navigate, high quality and fits my spouse perfectly!

Durable and safe
Easy to assemble but look at the YouTube video first to get a good idea of how it should be assembled. The video makes the printed instructions easier to follow. Easy to push, provides for safe transfers. Excellent price, considerably less than the kind used at the rehab hospital. Durable and safe.
