Great buy!
I am glad I bought this particular box of flashcards. The pictures on the front allow my preschoolers to play a rhyming match game. For my kindergarteners ,I choose one card, say to what word family it belongs, and we list on the board as many words as we can that belong in the family. When our list is complete, i turn over the card, the children take turns reading words on the back, and we compare our list to the list on the back of the card. Great buy!

Multi-ages found this set useful
For my purposes, I used these cards w/teaching adult ESOL. Students enjoyed the pictures, creating laughter & learning, by increasing vocabulary, parts of speech, & most of all, helping w/pronunciation.I've sent a pack to help w/our young grandchildren's learning to read. Our adult children are helping them to practice every evening. I can attest to that on a recent visit! In short, while the package states for younger children, there are many uses for creative teaching & learning.

Good for ESL too!
Adopted a 10 year old from Mexico who has now sat through 2 weeks of school all day, in English, totally lost because they have too many kids to teach properly. That being said, I'm teaching him English myself now. Many of these cards were too easy for him because he can already read in Spanish. However, those specific to English, like "ph" making the "fff" sound, as in elephant, & the various ways to pronounce the vowels were very helpful (long a versus short a). It helps that each card gives examples of different words that use a specific sound, because he picks out the words he knows & feels more confident. These held his attention quite well.

Great set of flash cards, great price
Great set of flash cards with a large variety of word families. My 5-year-old is struggling with remembering the sounds letters make together (even though he knows the letters) but he can sit down with this deck by himself and go through each card on his own by looking at the pictures and knowing what sound the letters are making. It's nice to be able to go through them together or let him occupy himself while learning and he really enjoys getting through them all on his own with minimal help.

Good introduction to word families.
These cards are great to use when introducing your child to the concept of word families. I started using them with my son during the summer before first grade. At first, he balked at doing them. He didn't quite understand what he was supposed to be doing but, in a matter of days, he was reading all of the words on each card and even making "rhyming" sentences with several of the words. I also think these cards have really helped with his ability to read and recognize, particularly, end sounds.

Perfect for preschoolers
This was better than I expected. My son is picking up how to read due to how these cards are structured. It groups words that rhyme or have the same sequence of spelling and change the first letter. It’s very easy and boosts confidence.
