As good as my 105 a bit heavier, Claris is really the last truly all cable actuated system left if you don’t want electronic shifting and bleeding your hydraulic brakes, let bicycle be a bicycle for goodness sake.

Excellent value crankset
OK, so it's a little heavy, but for the price this is an excellent value. I installed it on my Surly Long Haul Trucker with bar-end friction shifters and a Shimano 7-spd 13-28 freewheel on the back. Works flawlessly. Definitely worth getting if you're not concerned with some extra weight.
