Absolutely Worth It
I’ve been using the Buffalo Classic Rice Cooker for a days now, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The stainless steel inner pot is what really sold me—no more worrying about toxic coatings or flaking non-stick layers. It’s easy to clean and feels incredibly durable. The rice turns out perfectly every time, whether I’m cooking white rice, brown rice, or mixed grains. The auto warmer feature keeps the rice at just the right temperature without drying it out. The design is simple, but it works exactly as advertised—reliable and straightforward. If you care about safe, non-toxic cooking and want a rice cooker that does its job without any fuss, this is definitely worth the investment. Highly recommend!

Love it
We bought this rice cooker to replace others with nonstick surfaces. The goal was to get away from the chemicals in nonstick surfaces and stainless steel is the best way to do this. We've used it for white and brown rice as well as Faro (which cooks nicely on the brown rice setting) and it does a great job. Several reviews complain about sticking. While there is a little bit of sticking, that's the price of getting rid of the chemicals. It's a great trade off in my opinion. FWIW, after taking the rice out of the bowl, I put hot water and dish soap in it and let it soak for 10 minutes or so while I do the other dishes. Then I lightly take my fingernails to the bowl to get the small amount of stuck rice off and wash it with a scrubber sponge (I use my fingernails so I don't fill up the scrubber). It takes minutes and works perfectly.Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this rice cooker- it makes terrific rice (and Faro) and I don't have to eat any harmful chemicals!!!

EASY, STRAIGHT FORWARD RICE COOKER WITH STEEL INSERT
I was looking to replace a worn insert from the Z rice cooker where the teflon coating was coming off. First of all, Z does not offer replacement inserts and some third party offered them at almost the cost of a new rice cooker. Then the hunt was on for a stainless steel insert and decided to purchase the Buffalo rice cooker. I'm giving up on the potential of teflon slowly flaking off in the food. The rice cooker panel is simple. Just follow the markings on the bowl for the amount of rice and water, determine which button to push - either white or brown rice, plug it in and push the on button. The LED panel circles the line around to indicate the unit is working. When the time was up, the warmer button turns on and the rice is done. With the number of pots of rice made so far, it comes out perfect. This also comes with two paddles. The cord is attached to the cooker. The bowl itself is heavier than the Z teflon coated bowl. The bowl thicker metal disperses the heat very well. Very easy to clean and no complaints on this. I would expect some staining but so far there have been no bowl stains. (Very easy to clean with Bar Keeper's Friend or similar non-bleach product. I just use soap and water).I read some complaints about this rice cooker. I hate to tell you the primary reason to get a rice cooker is to cook rice and it does a nice job of that. I'm not planning to make soups (outside of porridge) or keep chili warm in this. This rice cooker is simple, small footprint for the counter or storage, has the stainless steel bowl with very very simple buttons to operate the unit. Why would you need a countdown timer or cook things outside of rice? More things to go wrong so make a few pots of rice to determine the time. This is my first try with the Buffalo Rice Cooker and it is a good buy. I'd highly recommend it.

Not recommend
Definitely nontoxic but rice sticks to the pot. Hard to clean. Water spills out at the top. Best to use it in your sink. Would nor recommend to buy

Excellent stainless steel rice cooker
I have been using rice cooker for over 30 years, and I used both stainless steel and non-stick rice cookers. I tried this rice cooker for about a month, and there was a little bit of rice stick to this Buffalo stainless steel rice cooker after cooking, but was very minimum. I cooked 6 cups of uncooked rice, and there was about 1 teaspoon of rice stick to the rice cooker. Thus, it is a very good rice cooker compared to my old stainless steel rice cookers. I have not used other functions of the rice cooker. I highly suggest buying this rice cooker. When it is done, make sure keep warm for 15 minutes before scooping the rice out of the pot to ensure the rice do not stick to the rice pot. I have a Buffalo stainless steel wok too, and the wok is best.

Weird lid design with non-removal piece; takes a long time to cook
I have kind of mixed feelings about this cooker. First off, it does cook well. The rice comes out fine. It was important to me to find a rice cooker with an interior free of nonstick material, since it always flakes off after a while and I'm guessing ends up in the food, and this cooker has an uncoated interior that looks and feels high quality. The reasons I'm only giving this three stairs are:1. It takes a really long time to cook, about an hour.2. The lid cannot be washed. There is a metal plate that pins a rubber gasket/seal to the top of the cooker. None of this can be removed (contrary to older reviews and even the seller's instructions on this Amazon listing -- the design has changed since then), so it is not possible to thoroughly clean any of it. You can wipe around the rubber but it can't be taken off so you can't truly clean it all.
