Fowler 52-215-006-1, Outside Micrometer Set With 0–6" Measuring Range

This set turned out to be as nice as I would have hoped. Took a chance on Chinese made and have zero complaints. Accurate, repeatable, seem well made. The feel is very good. I’m using these in my garage at home - I’ll never wear them out. Maybe they would not last as long as a Starrett or Mitutoyo in a professional setting - but I don’t see any reason why they would not.

Calibrated, and accurate, and good price too.

The micrometers themselves are in good condition and are calibrated to their standards. I have not used them yet but I am confident that they are fine. The storage box came with a bent locking tab and really rough looking. not happy with that. They need to figure out how to ship better.

These are a lot nicer than the cheaper ones I am getting repeatable measurments within .0001 +/- the cheaper set I had and returned was up to .0012 +/- these are nice and work well I had to take one apart and lean it but other than that no problems.

I've been a CNC machinist for 4 years now. I bought a used basic set from a guy who retired from the company I worked for. Everything was used and abused but a couple high dollar items made it all worth it. I never really needed the 0-6 mics because I was working on a big mill where bore sizes were 20" or greater so all tools were company supplied. Then recently I switched shifts and machines and need my 0-6 set daily. The used ones I had were very inconsistent and gummed up and had obviously been dropped more than once I wasn't ready to drop over $1k for starrett so I got these. They've been great. They are plenty accurate even against my companies setting standards vs the standards that came in the case. The lever lock isn't as good as Mitutoyo but they suffice. For this price point on a 0-6 with standards, carbide tips, and tenths readouts, you can't beat the price.

Just as good as the higher cost brands I've used. Accurate and MOST IMPORTANTLY "repeatable" results. Great for measuring pistons. I've already used it on Mitsubishi 4g63 and Toyota 2zz-ge pistons. Will be keeping this one.

Buen producto

In my line of work, as a gunsmith, accuracy is the name of the game. When your goal is to hold less than .0005” you need to quality tooling. I’ve had Fowler dial indicators for years and they have always been high quality and this 1”-2” did not disappoint. Easy to read to .0001”. Highly recommend.

Les micromètres sont très précis et solide. La boite es fragile et j’ai du retourné le premier set que j’ai reçu car la boite était cassé a l’intérieur... J’était pas sur au début parce que le 0-1 et le 1-2 sont a friction mais finalement je les adore.

Keeps its accuracy. Well built and easy to use. Great value.

These seem to be decent quality micrometers. The ad says .001" graduation, but they are in fact .0001" graduations. The quality of the case is pretty low, and the micrometers can rattle around in the box. The fit and finish is quite good for the price. The larger 3"-4", 4"-5", 5"-6" mics have ratchet thimbles and they feel better than the 2 smaller mics with friction thimbles. Out of the box they seem to need slight adjustments, and I will have to check them with higher quality standards when I get the chance.

For a cheap micrometer, it seems to be better than the "super cheap" alternatives. I have a full set of standards so I can set it as needed off of them and it handles a 0.0001-0.0002" accuracy fine.

Nice mics for the money They are accurate and all the standards and mics are well calibrated. Wood case has poor craftsmanship
