Great all around! I didnt read about the hand placement conical shape of the pole, doesnt bother me and like the feature.

I have the Life-time 10' kayak. This is the perfect paddle for a "sit on top" kayak. It was packaged well and arrived undamaged. Has multiple holes in the pole where the two ends connect together so you can off set the paddles if you want. I tried several different settings, but eventually went back to a straight alinement. It worked best for me. The shaft is bent in a little on one shaft so you can easily adjust your grip without having to constantly look at the ends to see if you have it in your hands correctly... great feature usually only found on much spendier paddles. The shaft has some kind of coating that makes griping easier as well. The thing I most cared about is the length. The paddle that came with the kayak was way too short and I would get soaked as I paddled because I had to lift the paddle so far out of the water for each stroke. The Pelican Poseidon is a full foot longer and has drip rings on each end to prevent "drip back" as you paddle. No more soaking! Well worth the purchase price... would buy again!

I purchased a new fishing kayak and needed a longer paddle to use due to the width of the boat. I have a Bending Branches paddle that I have really like but figured I would give this one a try. I have used it a couple of times and it is a sturdy fairly lightweight paddle. Some things to note, it is a right handed paddle design. What I mean by this is the shaft is oval shaped where your right hand sits and is designed so when you have your paddle feathered you can work it properly. I am a lefty but used to living in a Right hand world so it doesn't bother me that much. The other thing is the measurement on the shaft is a sticker and you can feel it raised when paddling. It isn't too big of deal but curious about durability. Overall it is a pretty decent paddle if you don't want to spend a bunch of money.

i got this for 44.95 as a back up paddle for when i launch or get in hairy situations and fishing hook thing may come in handy if i every fish, which i intend to in the summer times. you cant beat the quality for price, i mean its a trusted brand, and on craigslist old ones are going for similar prices and are beat up. even for a main paddle this is a very incredible deal. this is on par with the sea eagle paddle i returned that was $79. as for under $50 i challenge any1 on amazon to beat this with a trusted brand, i highly doubt it.
