First one had defective straps/sewing, second one seems solid enough
Ex-Army so I've lived and worked out of more than a few rucksacks in my time. Purchased this specifically to fit on a motorcycle luggage rack - as a daypack when off the bike exploring. I do not use hydration bladders, purchased a molle water bottle holder for that. I disconnect the shoulder straps when used as luggage and stow them in the bladder sleeve - then reattach when it's time to "ruck up"...Several of the external molle attachment points/straps broke (poorly sewn) while I was setting up the first pack I received; I contacted the seller (note their "100% guarantee") and they said to just process an Amazon return - which I did - and repurchased another (same) pack - I have found no faults with the second pack. Contents (none critical) stayed dry (on luggage rack) through several rain storms - pack is reasonably light - and some of the straps (I consider the waist belt superfluous on this small of a pack) can be removed (without cutting) if not needed. Size is spot on for a day pack - external molle pouches easily added to shift items to the outside if desired.SO - suggest you tug/check/inspect all the attachment points/straps/d-rings/etc for proper construction before you go too far down the road setting up your pack. Deducted 1 star as first pack defective, 4 stars for quick response from vendor and reasonably good quality (for a $30.00 pack) for the second. Most folks tend to purchase/carry larger packs than they really need - then end up carrying around a bunch of unnecessary (and eventually heavy) crap. This (either 30L or 34L, depending on where you read) pack is plenty large enough to get heavy - especially with water/a trauma kit (IFAK), etc on board. Hope that helps -

As an Army combat engineer I highly recommend this bag.
Let's start with what i disliked. The straps do not have folded ends on them so unless you knot them or tape them your are likely to have your straps come out whilst putting it on. Also the straps are a bit shorter than id prefer which can made it difficult to wear with an IOTV but a few minutes of some DIY taping fixes all that. Now for what i like. In this bag I commonly carry my wet weather top and bottom, cold weather top and bottom, 4 water bottles, an MRE, my laptop with its card reader, a 1TB external hard drive, WiFi puck, portable battery with cables, Warrior skills book, maximum sized rite in the rain notebook, baby wipes, pens, sharpies, knife sharpener, flashlight, shemagh, solar charger, power converters, deodorant, and MRE spoon and I still have plenty of room to pack. It is a deceptively roomy bag considering its size. The Y strap works perfect for quick external storage and access to my Kevlar and the side straps are useful as well. The velcro on the front makes it easily identifiable by giving you a places to put your name, rank, and personal patches. The waterproof material kept my electronics dry when i got caught in a storm in the field and the overall design and materials make it a compact durable gogo bag that I've used in place of my issued assault pack.I gave this bag a 4 out of 5 because of the straps but as i stated a short DIY fix will solve that.I recommend ordering a bag of molle attachments and a thermos pouch to maximize its utility but by itself this bag has exceeded my wants and needs. As an Army combat engineer, I highly recommend this bag.

much smaller than we expected
This is what I would call "cute." Not exactly what we were going for, but that's probably my fault for not insisting to hubs that we measure and get the exact dimensions. He saw the photo and was convinced this was "the one." So we bought it.But this is not a super roomy bag. It IS a nice-looking bag and well made, and there's a lot of compartments, great for organizing and keeping track of your stuff. Hubs uses this often, but it would be great if I could find this same item about twice the size.

Time will tell, plus some improvements even if it cost a few bucks more...
Just got it in and there are things the manufacturer should consider..1. Add the extra inch or so to length/width so it will easily fit a 15 inch laptop.2. Buckles are plastic...3. Bottom has very little to no extra protection for impact or abrasion.4. Tie down straps are too high/low and have to be crossed to work well.5. shoulder straps should be twice as wide as should buckles.6. Needs double/triple stitching throughout bag.I'm last bag (paratus 3 day) I had to take to the leather shop and pay extra to have it re-enforced the first week I had it. The main reason I got this bag is because it has removable shoulders straps (one of the weak points on my last bag). I was able to fit the extras from old bag to new one, and in a smaller footprint, less turbulence on my busa. The durability question will be answered in the next few weeks/months.
