Awesome litte sensor. DO NOT CONNECT TO LIVE WIRING.I had all power disconnect while tracing wires on vintage control equipment. Works as advertised.

I'm no longer doing comm work, but was very active in the communications field for years. This toner is fairly 'old-school' which kind of means easy to use and reliable. I have used it on various types of circuits, from POTS wires, to data lines, to house wiring (no voltage!). Worked great in all cases. Tone is easy to hear, which is great for those of us missing a lot of our younger abilities in that area. It's simple, rugged, and good quality.

I like this one better than the fluke, but that's a personal preference.

Works well

P Professional electrician here. Although this is made for tracing telephone lines, and it works well at that, I also use it for tracing UNENERGIZED! power lines to find if they are good, and approximately where the fault is if they are bad.

Feels cheap but gets the job done.

If you’re a telecom professional you know what a good powerful tone comes from the Tempo that this thing is trying to imitate. I powered it up and the tone was barely audible on a dry pair. Any kind of dial tone brings it down to nil, which makes this thing totally unusable. I can’t return it because the first mod I make to all my toners is a nice set of ABN clips. Add to that the fact when I was testing continuity of the line cord wires they pulled right off the board where they were cold-soldered. Terrible hunk of junk- maybe I can get some use out of the probe but I’m not hopeful about that either. Five thumbs down from this 40 year telecom tech.
