Reading some reviews it was difficult to judge what to expect. There are several ways you can approach fitting the Foam. I found the best was to use a retractable razor (as pictured) so I could set the depth where I needed and trace out my items I wanted to store. Once initial pattern was cut following the precut blocks I then used a fiskars scissors sideways to cut a flat surface. I found intitilaly that plucking chunks was not going to leave a clean cut out. For lighter indentations it was simple enough to just push the Foam down lightly after trace cutting. It like that it came with a cover piece of foam I was able to use over the top to separate my air hoses and protect the sprayers and accessories. I could’ve went with the next size Foam insert although I wanted to leave that 1/2” on one side for storing particular items that didn’t need to be in the Foam for protection. Overall I am pleased it does the job as described and only took a few minutes to set it up in my case. Far better than leaving expensive items rolling around to get dinged up when not in use. I ordered more for a larger case and a different project. In the future I may consider Foam that isn’t precut knowing how easy it is to cut and form.

I've got an old Zero Halliburton laptop briefcase that I wanted to convert into a secure pocket knife case. Obviously I didn't want them all rattling around loose in there, so I bought this foam and it works really well.I found that just pulling it apart with my fingers and then sliding my fingers down between rows I wanted to separate worked best. I started by slicing it with a knife, but found it wasn't necessary. For knives that are smaller I put some of the foam back in laying down on its side. So it effectively reduces the depth of the opening I made. This way I can customize it for larger and smaller pocket knives. It's great foam!Oh, and the extra flat piece that this came with was perfect for my needs. The laptop case has a thick strap secured inside to hold your laptop tight. I didn't want to remove it, so I was able to cut the large flat piece of foam to fit on both sides of this strap, creating an even base for the cubed foam holding my knives. Perfect!

I require to travel with a small amount of hand tools. I couldn't locate a bag or hard case that worked well to hold my tools in place and keep them from being tossed around. I found a hard case that fit the size requirements but they would get tossed around. This cubed foam worked great. I was able to pull a divider line and then peel away what I required for the shape of the case and the tools. Peeling was not too difficult but required a bit of pressure to start it. it also came with a back layer for hard cases, so any items you place inside would have a foam backing and placed within the foam cutout.you can use an sharp knife to help along but it may cut outside the peel lines, so be careful if doing so. The material feels good and doesn't come apart up when rolled in ones fingers. The foam looks like a solid piece except in spots where there is stress on it, squeezed but that is ok. The thinner piece of foam is solid and must be cut to fit anything smaller than given dimension. I would rather it look like that knowing the tools are secured than look smooth and tools fall out easy. Some of my tools are thin like wire cutters so I used a utility knife to cut the depth out so its not all the way at the bottom. It was easy to cut in this manner as long as you have a steady hand, its a bit harder to clean up any parts that require it afterwards.I gave it a 4 star because I can't pull apart the depth at half and the thin foam is a solid piece. Making it a bit of a project to fit into cases that aren't exact dimension given but I love it. I am thinking of what I can use the other half of the pull foam and the back layer. Still a great product and does a great job.

I purchased this foam tray to hold my camera lenses securely within a drawer system. I was using the KALLAX unit with the 2-drawer inserts from IKEA, in which each drawer has interior dimensions 12"x11"x5.5". After trimming off approximately 1 inch from the side of this foam, which was very easy with the pre-cubed tear-outs, this fit perfectly within the drawer. The tear-outs were fairly simple to remove after tracing my lenses as well. There was a mild smell when I first removed the foam from the packaging, but it seems to have dissipated within an hour after opening.

The connections are hard to remove but also fall out when you don't want them too. Overall it was hard to cutout the proper shapes and it made a mess. Tried a few techniques, none really worked all that well.One note, the cutouts are all the way through, so there will be no bottom. Not a deal breaker but didn't notice that in the description.

Absolutely perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for. The 1cm perforated blocks made it so that I created a nice tight fit around my delicate camera equipment. My only wish is that it came in other dimensions to fit larger drawers/cases instead of having to piece several of these together to fit the larger/longer spaces.Fair warning, this really isn't a pluck and go (just using your fingers to separate the blocks). You will need a knife to cut out the blocks. My recommendation: the slim long blade of a fish boning knife. {Side note: you wouldn't really want the finger pluck and go foam. It wouldn't be dense enough to protect your valuable objects!}

First time ever using a pick and pluck foam. For what I needed it worked great. It was easy to pull apart. Be careful near the edges and go slow, otherwise you will pull the outside edge apart. Not a product issue, but a user issue. I liked how it turned out. Only downside is all your edges are square, not rounded. But I am good with that.

Hier ist der Spielinhalt übersichtlich und es werden somit nicht so viele Fächer benötigt.Der Schaumstoff ist dicht; lässt sich aber - ohne Klinge - sehr gut von Hand auftrennen. Es trennen sich auch nur die Verbindungen, die beabsichtigt sind. Mir sind zumindest keine Fehlrisse entstanden. Einen gesondert bestellten 10mm Boden wurde mit "Pettax" (;-)) aufgeklebt.Nun werde ich mich an umfangreicheren Spielen probieren.Tolle Sache und preislich voll okay.
