This may be long, but if you are teetering on this buy, it may be worth your two minutes of time. There have been numerous mini-lights that I have purchased and sent back on Amazon and browsed at gear stores. They were not worth the money, overly complex, or did not fit the bill for something that I did not want to pamper and might get misplaced. The Mini Archer is well thought out and checked all the boxes. It is affordable, practical, and useful. It comes on in a comfortable low light automatically, double tap and you get a nice clean bright high, double tap twice quickly and you get a very fast and disorienting strobe. That is it. I do not need to carry around the user guide to remember how to use it. In this same mode, you can press the button quickly and just get a flash of low light if needed. It is great for checking a sidewalk lip or sending a rapid three for say a location signal. When you shut it off, you hold the button down briefly, and it will not come on by an unintended bump. It has to be held down briefly again to toggle on. It is small, thin, and light so as to not take much space and is not uncomfortable to have in a pocket. It can easily be clipped on the brim of a hat, shoulder strap, or belt loop to give hands free light to work or navigate by. It is rechargeable. Everything I purchase now is rechargeable. The charging port is concealed nicely by unscrewing the front end. This keeps dust and dirt out of the port as well as eliminating that little rubber plug cap that will be eventually torn and lost. At first, I thought (and was going to be disappointed) the whole front end would screw off like it would to replace the AA battery. It does not. It stops after it gives just the right clearance to be plugged in. It charges quickly. I did not charge it when I got my first one. It took quite the effort to actually run the battery down with the charge it came with. It was plugged in after my senior Economics class started and was fully charged in less than an hour by the time the bell rang. There is a nice (not annoying) pinhead of a red that shows it is charging, which turns blue when fully charged. This is simple and does not leave you guessing whether it is connected and charging properly. I left it in my coffee mug filled with water overnight. It functioned 100% the next morning and has so since. I wanted an EDC light that I could afford to have several of (pocket, truck cab, dog walking pack, hip-belt of hiking pack, holster, first aid kit, SAR chest rig, wife & daughter’s fanny pack, … you get it) along with all being uniform and simple in how to use. We all heard that 2 is 1 and 1 is none … and have been there. To me, this is the one. I was lucky enough to have a buddy (Forest Fire Manager) on a recent river trip introduce me to the Mini Archer and let me toy around with it. Let me go back to the usefulness of the low and high beam amount of light. That is the main function, right. The low light is soft and the perfect level to navigate around the neighborhood on a late dog walk or at camp without blinding and disturbing everyone around you and washing out your eyes’ night adjustment. The high beam is high, bright white, and clear for this little light and what you would want when you need to throw some light at something. My wife and I compared it to her major brand 400 lumen headlamp on a recent 9pm dog walk. The Mini Archer was much nicer to walk with and the hands down winner when we tested them on a pitch-black section of woods. The Mini Archer gave at least a 100 yard meaningful view through the Ponderosas that would allow you to identify an animal, object, or person. The beam is not too focused as to give a tunnel vision field of view, yet it is more focused than the headlamp to allow a longer field of view. It is very nicely balanced. This is only the second time that I have taken my time to write a review of a product. I appreciated it when someone did, and it helped me. In today’s environment, $20.00 is 5 (or 4) gallons of gas. The above qualities make the Archer Mini unobtrusive, worthwhile, and useful to carry. Two more are on their way and there will probably be several as stocking stuffers. I hope you find yours as good a value as I did.

Fantastic flashlight. I have used this flashlight daily for over 2 years. Still holds a charge. Very handy. Love the tail switch! I use it in crawl spaces, attics, working on my car…. I have been looking for an upgrade but I honestly can’t find one.

If you want a small EDC type of flashlight you may like this one. I own another Thrunight flashlight that is the same length but over twice the diameter. It led me to purchase this one. This one isn’t as bright by any means but seems to be built as well. I like that the charging port is totally covered as I have had a lot of other products by other brands end up with charging problems due to the port being damaged. This one could be in my pocket with whatever else I have in there and I am not worried about dirt or anything damaging the port. Testing the battery life it is on par with what they advertise, but seeing as I’ve only gone through 2 charge cycles I cannot speak to the longevity of the battery life over time. My other light they make has been used for close to two years, mostly only on camping trips once a month, but the battery has held up very well. I really like this brand of light and look forward to trying one of the more expensive larger models when I can afford to buy one but am sure it will be just as sturdy so the higher price point isn’t shying me away from spending the amount. This particular model was fairly inexpensive at around $17 on sale, fits nicely clipped to my pocket or to my hat brim when needed. (Clip can be used with the light facing either way which is a big plus) The only issue I have with these lights is that the power level can be hard to guess at times. I’ve had one die on me at inopportune times which is why I was happy to find this mini light. The extra carry weight is not noticeable so it is a great second light for backup. I might use my Thrunight lights for backpacking now with the backup but otherwise I use a light with a better battery charge indicator to know how long I have left on it. Overall this is exactly what I wanted for a second light with its size and usability as both in hand and like a headlamp. I would totally buy another if at the same price without hesitation, and recommend if a similar need is desired.

I bought the ThruNite Archer Mini on a whim, mostly because I needed something small, bright, and capable of making me feel prepared for situations that will absolutely never happen. And let me tell you… this little flashlight DELIVERS. First Impression: This thing is approximately the size of a fun-size Snickers bar, except it won’t melt in your pocket or cause guilt. Fits perfectly in your hand, on your hat, in your pocket, or probably inside a chip bag if that’s where you tend to misplace things (no judgment). Brightness: For something this tiny, it lights up my entire backyard like I’m hosting a police helicopter search. I fully expect my neighbors to ask if I’m starting a side job as a lighthouse. Build Quality: Feels sturdy—like it could survive being dropped, stepped on, or sent through the wash cycle (don’t ask). It’s basically the cockroach of flashlights, but in a good way. Charging: USB-C. Thank you. If I have to keep one more random cable around for a single device, I’m going to lose it. Charges fast, lasts a long time, and doesn’t complain—something I wish I could say about myself. Clip: The two-way clip lets you slap it onto a hat brim and instantly become the world’s least intimidating miner. Great for working on cars, grilling in the dark, or checking for monsters under your kid’s bed. Overall: If you need a compact EDC flashlight that punches way above its weight class, this is the one. It’s tough, bright, rechargeable, pocket-friendly, and just classy enough that you’ll show it off to your friends even if they didn’t ask.

The ThruNite Archer Mini is an amazing value. It took about five minutes to master its well thought-out, logical operation. PROS SST20 LED; TIR Lens. Default mode 1 tap from off is low power. No high power or strobe without 2 or 3 effortless, reliable taps from low. A tap from any mode goes to off. Long (barely) press button lock and unlock; lock state easily verified. Size. Run time. Price! CONS Low pressure (about 1.2 lbs) button rules out stashing in active pockets and some carry points. Outer clip ramp too slight making it difficult pass over thick seams and onto thick cap visors or belts and straps. MEH Fancy, pretty, "premium" USB cables with oversize C plug casings won't fully seat. Strobe. Those who feast on the video reviews lighting up trees 500+ yards away will not be satisfied with Archer Mini's absolutely adequate EDC-class 408 lumens. The narrow flood pattern fully lights up my 1/3 acre backyard. A drop to 157 lumens occurs in 2.8 minutes. Discrete illumination of dark spaces is provided by the 18 lumens default.

TLDR; LOVE the lockout feature on the tail cap, easy to operate, very compact, very bright, rechargeable, clip could use consideration, gets hot on high brightness, low brightness mode by default is appreciated. Operation Experience; The tail cap features a low, high, and strobe mode. The tail cap also features a locking feature to prevent any accidental switch-on events. If light is unlocked, single click tail cap to turn on. Low is the default brightness with high being enabled by quickly clicking the tail cap twice. Strobe is enabled by quickly clicking the tail cap three times. To turn off light from any mode, click tail cap once. To LOCK the light, press and hold tail cap from any mode until it turns off. If light is locked and user attempts to click it on, it will momentarily turn on at low brightness and then turn off to let user know the tail cap is locked. Click and hold tail cap to unlock and turn on light. Overall Experience: THIS THING IS SMALL BUT MIGHTY, no pun intended. Been using a few different penlights as an EDC for the past few years, one of which is from a popular power tool brand. This light is my new favorite EDC light due to how compact, bright, and featureful it is. The beam pattern is a combined beam (hot spot with spill). Beam temperature is slightly cooler than neutral white, but not by much. As others have shown, the light is practically concealed by bigger hands and isn't as bulky as the full length counterparts. Rechargeability is a plus, but light could benefit from the option to quickly swap to a AAA battery or alike in case the rechargeable battery is flat. The two-way clip is appreciated, but could be improved upon by increasing the leading angle of the "u-turn" part of the clip, similar to the side used to clip onto the hat. The current clip angle can lead to difficultly clipping onto pants pockets. As per the manual, this light (or any light) will get hot when using on the high brightness mode so please be careful and mindful of this when using and before putting light away.

his guy definitely lands the price/lumens/pocket space ratio solidly. I love the construction and USB-C charging (maybe not ideal for prolonged grid-down, but much simpler for for 98% of use cases (I also have plenty of replaceable battery pen lights). Dual direction clip is super useful and fairly rare at this price. Small enough that I curse when I have to dig around in my pack for it (a good thing, when I want to put it in my pocket). I waited to catch it on sale for a few bucks below list, which made it a rockin value. And I won't stress if I lose it - a huge factor for me. So glad I bought it!

When it was working I was really happy with the flashlight. But as of yesterday it gas stopped working, the light does not come on.
