Life on easy mode
These have made life so much easier. Popped into the slots, helps to hold the equipment in place before even screwing it in. Brilliant idea. Holds solid. Good quality.

Much essier to use than cage nuts
Much easier to use than traditional nuts. Some issues with my Startech rack as the holes are not quite to standards, but these rack studs work quite well in my other racks.

good time saving device
Why did you choose this product over others?: not as easy as single product but does the job as designed a lot less fiddling if youhave a fair abount of equipment but misses the middle hole so if like my kvm panel had 2 holes on a one u slot no good but most items like a swich spread across 3 holes then great time saving product

Best Solution For Rackmount Hardware
Absolute genius. This are superb for racks. Perfect for switches/panels etc and easy/simple to install. Makes rack look professional and no need to worry about cage nuts breaking or getting lost. Protects equipment for damage from overnighting of screws in standard installs and ease of use and reusability.

An efficiency boost but comes at a cost
Having a project to refresh switches at a UK University, totalling hundreds of network switches in network cabinet of various states (some with tight access, some with plenty of space) and doing most of the work alone I figured I'd try these to see if they would help with the process. The first pack convinced me these are great, although they are not something I use 100% of the time. For installs where I'm having to support a switches weight while installing they are brilliant as the posts help take the weight while you attach the nuts. They also save time versus clipping in cage nuts and dropping them, then fishing around for another, as the install of Rackstuds is very simple. Take for example a 1U gap where you want to install something - getting a cage nut is difficult whereas installing a Rackstud is a doddle. They also do well when installing adjacent to a cage nut, as I've had issues in the past where a cage nut in the above or below U space slightly obstructs the slot you're aiming for and unable to then get one fitted, whereas the Rackstud fits in nicely around other cage nuts. The other benefit alongside the speed to fit, is the speed to remove. If you have racked kit and want to re-shuffle to optimise airflow or change the U spacing then these can be very quickly detached and moved to the right space, whereas a cage nut requires removal of 4x often at times difficult to depress cage nuts. I'm sure we've all resorted to prying a cage nut out with a screwdriver and narrowly avoiding a stab wound to our hands! They are not without issues however. The quantity to cost ratio is poor, so I only use these when a cage nut would slow me down or be more difficult. As I say this tends to be where the space is limited or I'm installing many switches and want to not get fatigue from all the weight being supported. A pack of Rackstuds can quickly be exhausted and they do take up more room in a kit bag. Switches I've been installing, MS-350 and MS-355-24X2s, are within the rated 20KG specification of the Rackstuds however I've observed sagging of the switches when racked. Longer PoE+ switches are the worst for it. The lowest nut must be quite tight to reduce the sagging but cannot be eliminated completely (although cage nuts also have some less pronounced sagging) but when tightening the nut using a PZ2 driver the head is easily rounded. Ideally the manufacturer should have a better quality plastic to not deform so easily when being driven by a screwdriver. I'm sure we've all been in cabinets where someone hasn't bothered buying a shelf or racking ears and has used a switch as a shelf - if that were to be done when using Rackstuds I can fully imagine them giving way and snapping, resulting in damage or injury. The number of nuts to studs is exact and can do 25 bits of kit. There are no spares. This means if you drop a single nut you're down by 1 item of kit that can be racked - quite a sunk cost. Likewise, if future techs are working on this and lose a nut they're very unlikely to have spares themselves, so I have a jiffy bag on the cabinets with a small amount of spares to aid them if this happens in the future. I do wish you could buy just the nuts to account for this. Would I recommend these? Yes. Would I say they're a replacement for cage nuts entirely? No.

Easy and durable.
These are really good. Very sturdy and durable and holds everything on my rack. More expensive than cage nuts but less fiddly.

A big improvement on the previous version (which was good too)
These are great and very easy to use. I have them in my business and work racks and am using them for clients now.

Use these instead of screws/nuts
Extremely easy and smooth to install. Very sturdy. I would never use nuts and screws ever again to install something into a rack.

Mhhm ham.
It's rackstuds, just follow the spec limits, and you won't find any broken equipment on the floor of your rack or ground later. Or your fingers turned into a fine sliced ham.
