As new and very powerful even in 2025
I wanted to replace my 2020 Macbook M1 that I spilled some wine on and Apple wanted $1100+tax(!) to fix it. I said no thank you I will just get another used Macbook instead.. I am not paying for new macbook, I have had good luck with used macbooks and imacs (and ipads) so I researched used ones on ebay and amazon. I wanted something newer and did some research on power of macbooks between M1 and M5. My primary use is Lightroom for photos so I need a lot of storage and power to edit and render photographs. The hardest part was deciding between 14 inches and 16 inches. I was coming from 14 inch M1 but had 16 inch Macbook Pro at one point so I am aware of the size differences. I knew that if I got a 16 inch, it is too large to travel with so I would need to stay home. I3-14 inch can go on trips. Ultimately I went with a 16 inch because this particular model had all I needed: 4TB SSD (2TB was an absolute minimum for me) and M1 max which appears to be powerful even for 2025 standards. It also came with 64GB which is nice but 16GB or above would be fine for photo editing. All this for $1499 I think is a good deal. The macbook came flawless it looked brand new - not a single scratch or dent, literally as new. The only thing it did not come with OEM Apple power charger, and the one it came with, was USBC one, not the Macsafe one. I have a bunch of USBC Apple chargers at home and all of them seem to be charging this macbook rather fast, so no real issues there. Overall so far I have been happy with the purchase. This macbook is silent and does not get warm (i had it on lightroom with syncing to adoble cloud for 48 hours straight.

Better than buying a brand new laptop!
Looks like new! Easy setup, runs like a champ. Great quality, no scratches. Great value for the price. Had this up and running in minutes.

PERFECT!!
I was a little nervous about buying a MacBook on Amazon but I couldn't be happier. It came in PERFECT condition and was ready for me to set it up and I had no issues. You couldve told me it was brand new out of the box and Id believe you lol It's very fast and lightweight. I put a case on it so that made it a lil heavier but still definitely very easy to carry around. The 14" was a better size than I thought it would be!! Less bulky than a 15" but still very usable/not so small that I can barely type. I plan to use this for music production purposes (and an upgrade from my old laptop) and with the speed I've seen so far, I'll do just fine :) **IMPORTANT NOTE: CHECK REVIEWS ON SELLERS WHEN YOU DECIDE WHERE YOURE ORDERING FROM!!!** Some had REALLY bad reviews so I steered clear. I ordered my laptop from Dynamic IT Hardware so I recommend them.

Refurbished ‘premium’ was a bad idea
Premium refurbish is listed as not having scratches visible from over 12” away, battery over 90% and fully working. Received the MacBook and it had several scratches or gauges that were easily visible including the corner of the metal near the touchpad being worn or flattened at an angle. The battery was at 85% capacity and the finger Touch ID was broken. Apparently when a third party replaces the touchID it’s common to not work, and in this case it definitely didn’t. I tried updating to the latest software, cleaning with a dry computer cloth, and ultimately the finger print ID was useless. Failed immediately when tried to add a fingerprint and the new OS reported it as a problem. I guess I won’t buy a refurb from anyone but Apple in the future if at all. This was from Prime Mobility. Would have been a great deal if it worked and was in premium condition as advertised. The return options are bad too, I have to drive 26 miles now to return this computer because there is no UPS nearby and no other options. Horrible experience and I paid expedited shipping because I lost my job and then my computer broke at the worst time, so I was in need of a computer asap and wasted two days waiting for delivery and now wait more for when I am about to buy a new one and won’t even get the money back for this until a few days after it arrives back in New Jersey where it was shipped from.

Good refurbished option when you’re on a budget
This is my first time buying a refurbished Apple product and I can say I’m happy with the decision overall. At first glance, the MacBook looks to be in excellent condition. If you look very closely, you can see some light scratches and minor wear on the body, especially on the right side below the ports, as well as a few tiny marks that show normal use. What concerned me a bit more was the screen: it’s not damaged or worn out, but under certain lighting I can notice a couple of small hairline scratches. That said, this is exactly what you should expect from a refurbished product — it’s not 100% perfect cosmetically, but it’s fully functional and works great. I received the model I ordered: a 14" MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. It arrived completely drained of battery and came with a non-original charger and cable, which is something to keep in mind if that detail is important to you. One personal tip: take the time to read the seller reviews carefully — that’s something I skipped and I realized it can really influence your overall experience. Despite the small cosmetic details, I totally recommend buying refurbished products, especially from Apple. It’s a great way to get a powerful device when you don’t have the budget for a brand-new one.

Amazing deal, great seller, shipped securely, MacBook is in brand new condition!
Amazing item. Really came in absolutely pristine/premium condition with only 77 cycles on the battery and 88% capacity left. The Macbook looks completely unused. This really was a steal! Thanks so much, can't wait to make so much new music with this!!!!

Nice MacBook Pro, unlucky on the keyboard
I got the base model MacBook Pro 14 in “Excellent” condition for around 750 USD from Gadget Replay. I picked this seller specifically because of their high rating. I hear Woot is very good as well. Packaging was sufficient, came with a 3rd party 65W USB-C charger that appears alright. No MagSafe! Bummer. The laptop itself is almost spotless, with only one visible scratch on the body near the ports and one light scratch (more of a short slash) mark on the display near the top, which is only visible in specific lighting conditions. As far as I can tell, no unoriginal replacement parts have been used. The specs are as advertised (I guess they couldn’t be any worse as this is the base model). Battery health was at 86%, came with MacOS Ventura and a random extra partition so I took the time to just erase all of the APFS partitions and reinstall Sequoia from Recovery. It got a little warm during installation but nothing egregious (and nothing like my Windows laptop). After a few days of use I noticed the "h" key on the Mac seems hyper-sensitive to any pressure and will type under extremely light force, even without being pressed. This has annoyed me enough to warrant a return. I suppose I have gotten unlucky.

Exceeded Expectations Despite Small Issues...
I ordered the computer in "Excellent Condition," and there were no major dents or anything. However, the keyboard was definitely used and not cleaned effectively, as it only took some wet wipes to remove the previous owner's oils. I ordered the computer thinking I was going to get a 512GB model because that's what the listing said I would receive. However, I got a 1-terabyte model instead!!! So I am thrilled. The computer itself works great and is super fast much better than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go that I was using I chose the pro over the newer air model because I felt that the air would melt with the amount of work that I do (Adobe). I haven’t had much time with it to see if the battery lasts long enough, because the battery has degraded to only 86% health, which isn’t the best for a computer in "Excellent Condition." Otherwise, I am happy with it and I hope that happiness continues...
