Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela

The packaging was in good condition and as were the DVDs but what was great was the storyline itself and the start of beautiful on-screen chemistry between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. She is truly a classical Indian beauty and they are the Bogey and Bacall of Bollywood. SLB is always able to integrate his artistic and musical intrepretations into all his movies.

There were subtitles, you just had to turn them on which was very nice. And the movie was really enjoyable. Not too dramatic, the songs were lovely and while it was quite violent I think maybe they were trying to re-enact past stories with the modern touch. Feuds in modern times wouldn't be using swords, they would be using guns. Its like history was replaying, but adapted to the modern times. I personally really liked the movie. Its one of the few indian movies that was well wrapped up. Didnt seem rushed or skimmed over. It was good. I have a few comments on what i WISH wouldve happened in the movie but I dont want to spoil it for anyone reading.

A brilliant Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, this film is a visual feast that's opulent, lush and colourful and most of all so artistically crafted to showcase 2 knockout leads that will leave you breathless and gasping for more. Ranveer Singh outdid himself portraying lover-boy Ram, who is more concerned with hanging out with his buddies in between selling porn dvds and fencing stolen cars than to be competing over criminal empires with the feuding family of Leela( Padika Padukone)! Everyone knows the outcome of the R&J classic, yet one can't help wondering if these star crossed lovers were going to live happily ever after in this adaptation!The music and dance routines were fabulous. If the old Bard was alive today he would have given it a standing ovation. Highly recommended and I hope SLB would consider making a version of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew next!

*potential spoilers*Bhansali played off the gritty gun aesthetic Baz Luhrman used to great effect in his own R&J adaptation but made it even more surreal and colorful in a uniquely engaging way. The best part about this film , apart from the details, costumes, dance numbers, and palpable co-star chemistry is how Bhansali incorporated the tragic themes of the original play into a narrative that while I intellectually knew how it could end, was able to keep me guessing and entranced the entire time.

I'm not too big into bollywood films but I really liked this movie. It is one of my favorite films in the last 10 years.It is beautifully shot and Deepika and Ranvir have very good chemistry with each other on screen. It is actually my favorite adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.If you like beautiful films then you should watch this. The english subtitles were good for me so not sure what other reviewers had issues with.

For the price you would think you'll get both disc or they would tell you you're only buying 1 of 2 disc. Can't watch because it's scratched badly. Will be returning.

There is a point in the movie when the male lead gets very emotional over Leela's leadership decisions for her tribe. It's an amazing scene. Great acting. But a little too racy for the kids to watch (bedroom scene with incense holder).

I do not know a word of Hindi, but after stumbling across a scene of this movie on Youtube I simply had to see it regardless. The scene I saw was directed so well that I saw the whole movie without subtitles to get the full essence of the imagery even though I wouldn't understand everything. The way the director uses light, scenery, color and music in this production is just perfection. The dance choreography is amazing and the costumes are beautiful. Visually it is just stunning. Obviously I can't really comment on the script or the story much as as I don't know the language, but I could grasp the story well enough- It is a modern Indian adaptation of Romeo and Julliet. Anyone who appreciates talented film direction should have this movie in their collection.

Best movie of Sanjay Bhansali with top notch audio and video quality. Must buy this. I highly recommand to buy this Blurry.

I am not a big fan of Shakespeare play about unfortunate young lovers from Verona but this recent indian version of the well known story totally convinced me. I enjoyed the movie immensely - beautiful settings (always so impressive arid landscape in Gujarat and possibly or even probably the most romantic city in India - matchless Udaipur); colourful costumes, many of them as they were created for some fashion extravaganza; great dances and songs. But the film would not be what it is without Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone - what a chemistry between them ! They are both not only young and handsome but also incredibly attractive and sexy. Ranveer Singh does not act, he simply is Ram - a total identification with hero and his entry scene with "Tattad Tattad" song is just one of those to be watched over and over again !

I am in India as I am writing this for work. (Gujarat)The music is on the radio all the time so I fell in love with the music first. I downloaded the album and watched the music videos on Youtube.I love the colours and the actor and actress are very good at conveying the Romeo and Juliet even if the story is a bit thin, I bought mostly for the Bollywood and the music :-D
