Bristles bent easy, was really hard to get fleas off the cat as they would slip through the teeth

My 14 year old Pembroke Welsh red haired Corgi got fleas for the first time. These fleas were tiny fleas like I have never ever seen before. I ordered this particular fine and long tooth metal flea comb thinking it would comb easily through my little Corgi's hair and that this would easily help get rid of the fleas. Please note that I had for several years been combing my dog every night with a fine toothed plastic human hair comb. Even though this Herzko comb is well made I found it difficult to get the comb to comb through that very thick coarse Corgi hair. But, I also found that the more I used the comb, the easier it got to comb with it. So, Yes, it is a well made comb and it works. I do think that if the comb were bit longer in length say about three or four inches that it would be easier hold and to use. I found the length of the teeth of the comb perfect. I will continue using this comb every night when brushing and combing my dog even after I know that the fleas are completely gone. With the nightly brushing and combing of my dog for these 13 years I have had her, (she is a rescue baby) she has a beautiful coat. Using this fine toothed Hertzko metal comb makes her coat even more beautiful.

This works so much better than my other flea combs for my dogs with long hair.

I bought the Hertzko flea comb because I couldn't find my old flee comb. After is arrived I found the old one. I tried it out on my cats. Two of them loved it. As a matter of fact one of my girls has been following me around and cuddling with me since I combed her. The second cat seemed to like it at least she didn't walk away. My third tolerated it but she isn't wild about being combed, brushed or petted. She can be a bit of a crab. The comb went through their fur smoothly. Happily, no fleas, but the comb did get a bunch of loose fur. I decided to keep the Hertzko comb because it did a better job and the smooth ended bristles didn't catch on their skin. Oh yes the crab didn't try to bite it. Which means she didn't thnk it was attacking her. Good job Hertzko.

Excellent- comb has rounded ends and doesn't scratch in a bad way my kitties skin like other combs. One kitty now puts his chin up so I can comb/scratch under his chin and along his neck. I won't use the chemicals on my kitties, as all my friends who use them (chemical flea control products), now their kitties have a lot of very expensive medical problems. I'd rather use a quality comb instead to control critters.The teeth are close enough together to grab even the smallest of those six legged nasty critters.The handle is well balanced in my hand and has enough weight to keep control of the comb.I do wish there was an extra piece of equipment to clean off the fleas and debris off of the teeth, or something that would slide down to dump the debris into a container- I use a zip lock bag to hold them with a wetted paper towel or cotton balls.I'd recommend this product for the comfort and future health of their precious kitties.

The teeth are so much closer than the regular flea combs. It traps the smallest of fleas. Even flea dirt. My Persian cat doesn't mind this one, because of the rounded teeth. I know fleas are much easier to prevent, than to control. However, when it does happen, you will want the Hertzko at the ready. Grip/handle makes combing easier, too, I held this up to my standard comb, and was startled at the spacing difference. You can't see through this one! It gets everything. These teeth are so much closer together, and shorter. Easier to use, on the thick coat of my cat, even when she is sporting a "Lion Cut." My cat doesn't run when she sees the Hertzko. It has caught large & small fleas, and larvae. Since using, I have also used it for the mats that sometimes occur behind the ears, legs. That was a nice surprise. It will be standard fare among my grooming tools, for sure!Best little comb ever --

I absolutely love the size of this flea comb for kittens, it's not too big and I don't feel like I'm going to hurt them since it only has teeth on the one side. Unfortunately the teeth on this flea comb are a little too close to one another and it pulls out their fur. I would love to give this 5 stars but I just can't justify that with the way it pulls out my kittens fur.

The comb itself is well made and easy to use. However I feel like it pulled out my cats' hairs more than helping with fleas. My cats are short hair cats.

As far as flea combs go this is a reasonable product. I think it is too expensive. That opinion is based on the fact that although its reach is deeper than the usual combs it still leaves the problem of popping the fleas out and getting them drowned or squashed with a finger nail. For a long haired dog or cat it is ideal.

One of the best flea combs. I purchased a persian kitten who is extremely small at the moment. The grip handle is perfect for holding the comb.I have purchased a whole set of combs by Hertzco. The handles are very comfortable to hold and extremely well made. These items by this company are made to last. They are not flimsy at all. You get what you pay for.

I don't usually bother leaving reviews but this flea comb is great. We have a long-haired cat (Norwegian Forest type) and I couldn't get our previous flea comb through his thick fur. This one slides through beautifully and removes the fleas. You can then squish them with your nail against the purple handle, if you wish. The cat loves it so we can do it daily and keep the fleas down.

Very good product,my poor old cat is riddled with fleas as we can't use flea products on him because of his medical issues.This comb does remove the little critters very well and I would definitely recommend it.

More expensive than some combs but seems well made and nothing other than hair passes through the comb
